Tri-Droid
And now... my latest masterpiece... THE TRI-DROID. Inspired by the Clone Wars movie, this was my big Lego project this summer!
About this creation
This Tri-Droid is really one of my proudest Lego achievements. Never before had I taken a concept from a picture or video and made a Lego model of it, but I think it came out well. I tried to incorporate every possible detail I could get from pictures and video clips of the movie, and also to build the droid as close to mini-figure scale as possible. After being inspired to build the droid from the Clone Wars movie, I searched MOCpages for others who may have already done it, and I thank both JP... and Zackariah Macaset for posting such great creations that helped me build my foundation ideas for the project. Although this Tri-droid is of my design, I give credit to Zackariah for helping me find a clever way to mount the guns, and to JP.. and other builders for helping me find a good way to mount the legs with that 6-holed barrel. It's very hard to find ways to get things into tri-orientation as I'm sure you both know from building your tri's. Although Zackariah's head looks very similar to mine, I came up with the idea of the lego sphere myself, and later found out that he had done the same. I guess great minds think alike huh? My model is a bit fragile, but still sturdy enough to play with amongst my other legos. It's size really is impressive. Please rate and comment!

Whoa! Awesome work. Legs are a little bulky, but I can't imagine another way to make them that would support the head. Nice job, all around an awesome MOC!

Great work. That's a real masterpiece you have there. Excellent work on the legs.

Awesome! I wish I had enough bricks to build that. My brick count is so low, to make a tank I had to cannibalize another tank for treads and wheels! (also I have barely any bricks of the same color...) (=[

Awesome. I like how its big and bulky and the leg desgin is very cool too. Like others have said the use of the hinge was smart.

That could have reached the perfection if the legs were longer, but I'm sure you can quickly fix this little detail ;) Otherwise, this Tri-Droid is nicely done, using brick hinges for the legs is better than what I did, and you also did a good job on the three cannons! Separatists need MOAR Tri-Droids =D
