I now present to you His LordShips Stork! As promised, the Stork is a Hummingbird carrier... which is pretty much a bigger Hummingbird.
Why, you ask, is this called the Stork? Well the answer is simple: I was gonna call it the Pelican, but with Halo, you know how many people would be like "d00d! Taht 1sn7 teh M4573rCheef's P3lican!11eleven11!1!1!" And so I figured I'd go with the next best delivery bird: the infamous Stork. Instead of dropping babies on you it drops whirring machines of death. But hey, from a parent perspective it's the same, isn't it? :P
CC is welcome and encouraged! Good building and have a nice day!
About this creation
The Stork is powered by two backward thrust propelers, and kept aloft by a single might UpityUp (R) Engine, build by Dr. Professor, the pioneering engineer for His LordShip. A single boiler powers all three engines, taking up the entire center module, forcing the pilot chair to be attached outside of the vessle.
A close up of the pilot and the controls.
The communications array and double steam release point for the boiler.
How a Hummingbird is attached to the Stork. Please, for your veiwing and my sanity, ignore the giant orange pillar holding the Stork in the air. I was pressed for time.
A closer look at the attachment point.
These are Hummingbird 2.0. They feature an advanced veiwing periscope and a grenade launcher to replace the second anti-infantry gun.
The Hummingbird can be found in the Steampunk folder of my page for a closer look at the Hummingbird 1.0.
Fourthwall:
After this breif foray into Steampunk I'm coming out really liking this little style. I don't think I'm going back for now, but later on, let's see what happens. I may well build a Steampunk empire to conqure the world in the name of His LordShip someday. As of posting this the Stork and both the Hummingbirds are dead and gone. All, that is, but the pilot seat of the Stork, just because it looks cool and incase anyone decides they are to lazy to figure it out for themselves and ask for instructions. Constructive Critism is welcome and encouraged! Good building and have a nice day!

I was wondering, are you going to go to Brickfair 2010? I might and I was going to ask if you are going, so I could meet you in person. Well I would love to meet you (and Cody), unfortunently I won't being going to Brickfair. However, I will definently be going back to Brickcon, which was amazing. And I nearly got the cost of entry to bring something back in free stuff... totally worth it! |

Good work, I really love your steam-punk! The only problem I have is the photography. The pics need to be better, it just looks cleaner that way. Otherwise though it's a great creation, and keep up the good work! |

yeah, james is a lot easier to say than mattrikan. lol That was the idea. That way if I meet anyone at Brickcon and they ask for a username, then James is a bit easier.

yeah, you posted this twice. but the build itself was great! I like the mix of the steampunk helicopterish look with a somewhat modern VTOL look. I don't know if that was intentional or not, but it made the design a lot sleeker and more elegant. great job! Thanks. I'm doing something about the double post now.
