The Spook is a funny little light-follower that runs on two big wheels and uses a swivel wheel in the back.
About this creation
The Spook is a rather comical looking light-follower that uses a differential-drive to run and a swivel wheel in the back for balance. He features a set of fiber optics in the back of his head that helps to make him look more “interesting”(especially in the dark!). The AAAAHHRRR!!!! look and creepy claws were achieved by using pieces from the Extreme Creatures expansion pack. I implemented several features into The Spook to help achieve maximum efficiency, such as, having an axle run through several beams for less friction. This is seen in the picture where a beam is on the outside of the wheel.
The program for The Spook is supposed to make him play a little game when someone shines a flashlight at the light sensor. Instead of following the light, however, he deliberately moves away from the light. If someone shines light into his light sensor enough times in a designated time period he will stop, beep ferociously, and then resume his endless behavior. Also, he uses two bumpers for obstacle avoidance. The program was written in NQC. However, if I remember correctly when I tested The Spook, the program could have worked better than it did (or if it worked at all!:). It would also have been interesting if I had created a program that would chase people instead of going away from them!
