This MOC represents place of one of the Zadar's landmarks, Coast gates - Porta terraferma, in a year 1537. before the work started. Old medieval and antic walls would be rebuild into new modern 16th century fortifications.
About this creation
At the beginning of 16th century Zadar was last and most important stronghold at the borders of Venetian Republic and Ottoman Empire, so Venetians took great deal of efforts to build new fortification system around town. One of the product of that works would be Coastal gates - Porta terraferma - Kopnena vrata Zadar.
The gates would be built at this location in the next few years.

At this point, walls are old and collapsing. Detail of the walls and old gates. This was not main city entry, but just some small south gates.
