UTS Fireblade
The ultra thin ship (UTS) Fireblade is a very thin strike fighter that approaches its enemies full frontal, offering a minimum target to its opponents.
About this creation

The stats:
- Scale: minifig
- Class: ultra thinship (1 stud wide, except for the shielded canopy)
- Manufacturer: FSI docks (Fassio Slimfast Intergalactic)
- Affiliation: none
- Length: 27.1 metres
- Width: 32 cm (excl. canopy), total width: 1 metre (incl. canopy)
- Engines: 4 fusion thrusters + cooling (the white bit between the thrusters)
- Speed: 20 G
- Power source: 4 'Mr. Fusion' mini nuclear fusion reactors
- Weapons: 2 high-power rapid fire plasma cannons
- Defence: being very thin; cooling system
- Personnel: 1 (pilot/gunner)
- Consumables: none

Here you can see the ultra thin ship coming head on (try hitting that at 20 G!), and a portrait shot.
Because most fusion reactors are substantially wider than 32 cm (12.6 inches), a solution was found in using four 'Mr. Fusion' home fusion reactors in a serial alignment to provider power to the ship. The gray area of the fusion reactors also houses some lateral thrusters for steering the ship.

The thin backside of this sleek ship (excellent getaway shape!), and a back portrait of it.
The cooling system between the thrusters helps defending the ship against heat-seeking missiles and scanners, further increasing its elusiveness.

Thanks to Yuri Fassio, who came up with this great idea.

Quoting Yuri Fassio Steef, your thinships are not showing in the search engine, maybe it's because you wrote "thin ships", other builders are writing it like me all together (because originally they were to be a spoof of your longships).
Ah, I see. Thanks. I made sure I wrote at least once 'thinship' in both my entries, so I guess they'll start showing up then.

Quoting Yuri Fassio lol I didnt comment because Steef forgot to mention they were already up! Extremely cool job here, a lot of detailing I didn't put in my models :)
Cheers. I didn't know I had to specifically mention it, but here you are ;)

Quoting John the Imaginative It can get thinner, a non-SNOT 2/3 thickness.
Of course. I was even contemplating that. But now it's MOColympics time first. Why don't you knock yourself out and build one yourself?

Quoting Marcus Forsberg Sorry for being colour blind, my bad...
Heh, don't worry about it man. They are very thin lines. Actually, a ship with a Belgian flag is a pretty good idea.

Quoting Marcus Forsberg Oh yeah! Why not call it an UCS (Ultra Cool Ship)? Love the shape and the disappearing act of this baby. Nice touch with the Belgium colours on the mid-section.
Thanks! But: Belgian colours? Just click on an image to zoom, and you'll see there's no black in there (although it is a nice idea). Now, I've used brown, dark red, red, orange and yellow stripings.

Quoting Space Pirate at a second glance I can even see some similarities between this one and an ocean sunfish...though I wonder why they call it a sunfish...it's a 'moon'fish in German, and that's much more what it looks like ;) though they call it a 'toppled car' fish in Taiwan...I rather don't ask...
Heheh. They are also called maanvis in Dutch. I can see and appreciate the resemblance.

nicely done! I was going for one of Yuri's thinships myself...they are awesome! But I changed my mind in the heat of building...what remains, is the canopy idea, pretty cool me thinks! And your build is fantastic as well, I especially like that reactor thingy in the center ;)
