Chyllasthinsis
About this creation

A chyllasthinsis (the t is silent) is an ancient pre-Sumric weapon used in battle. The word chyllasthinsis literally translates to Weapon of Six Deaths. It was first written about in Homer’s Iliad and again pops up in some of the earlier works of Demeklinius and Rosagus. The geometry of the weapon received a few chapters in Newton’s Principia and LaBelle’s On Falling Bodies. Each different “tribe” had its own colors and markings on the chyllasthinsis that indicated the land holdings and rank amongst the other tribes. Each chyllasthinsis shown is almost exact in its actual size and as close as I could get to its color.

Thanks for the course on Chyllasthinsis! This is what I like the most: the moc is clever and make people learn more about the past... Well done!

just some ideas you were tossing around?... Seeing these displayed at BrickFair last month, I thought they were merely mathematical constructs reflecting your profession. Fortunately, Lego doesn't make the 1x2 razor blade piece, for surely you'd've incorporated it as well.

These look like they were a pain, and fun to put together. I have seen you on my brick journal, with your very impressive landmark creations.

So I'm curious as to what inspired these...Was it, 1) the mathematics of the construction, 2) the interest in history, or 3) your obsessive and unquenchable fixation with killing things? Based on the excessively violent nature of your other creations (especially that Book Cadillac Building...oh, the humanity!), I'm gonna go with #3.

Oh, so it's kinda like "Death Blossom" from "The Last Starfighter"? Sweet! You know what always bothered me about that movie, the guy gets a universal translator so he "hears" English when aliens talk to him. Ok fine, but when they go back to earth at the end, how come ALL the other people in the Star Light Star Bright Trailer park can understand Grig (the alien)? Did I go ADHD there again? Oh BTW, I'm gonna go with the word... cute here. Thanks for sharing ~ Chris.

That's really interesting! Beautiful work. Can you show a picture of the core? I've made a 4x4 core too and I'm really wondered how you did it. ~M
