This is my virtual LEGO® rendition of the modern-day American flag.
About this creation
This is my virtual LEGO® rendition of the modern-day flag of the United States of America. The 13 stripes represent the 13 original colonies, while the 50 stars represent the number of American states.
The flag itself represents the ideals of freedom, equality, and justice. It represents the sacrifice of countless brave individuals who fought and died for the ideas that America was founded on.
I personally pledge my allegiance to this flag, and to the Republic for which it stands - one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
*DESIGN NOTES*
Totaling in at 1,557 pieces, this is by far the largest MOC I have ever built. In fact, I had to close out of all other programs while making this on my computer (music player included), just to give my PC enough memory to handle this awesome creation. I made the stars first, then placed them on the blue field. I then made the stripes in a separate file, and then combined the files’ content.
The stars use the same design as what went into my “STAR Corp. logo”, and are 20 pieces each, not counting the non-visible 1x1 round plate that attaches them to a blue backboard made up mostly of 8x8 plates.
Close-up shots of the star design:
Total height:
130 studs = 104 cm (1.04 m) = 41.6 inches (over 3 feet!)
Total Width:
160 studs = 128 cm (1.28 m) = 51.2 inches (over 4 feet!)
* As usual, the program I used to build this is LeoCAD.
I then converted it to an .ldr file and rendered it with LDView.
For info on contacting me about permission to use the design or obtaining a copy of the 3D file I made, see my homepage.
A labor of love, to be sure. I can not think of one thing that you could improve. WOW! This is best LEGO(R) version of the American flag that I've ever seen.
