Hummer Independent Suspension
Great small-scale independent suspension allows this HUMMER to handle any terrain.
About this creation
Introduction

This HummerŽ was my first attempt at a small-scale SUV that included full independent suspension, that was also decent enough looking that it was worthy of showing. A HummerŽ is a good platform for any suspension project, so I took the basic look of an H1 combined it with the H2 SUT and put some suspension in.

Styling

All of the styling of this HummerŽ is fairly basic. It has the signature hummer grill and a simple shape true to form of the hummer truck style (H2 SUT mixed with H1). The piece on the hood is the only dimension giving part. The HummerŽ also has the wheels from 4883 that are shiny and look good comaired to newer wheels.

This was from a shot that showed similar aspects of this and the street version. (probably not posting) I forgot to turn the part on the hood back to normal.

Suspension

The suspension derived from the basic principle in many small(ish) scale suspensions except I made it smaller. I also mine more reliable and have greater flex. The full potential of the system allows it to go over a standard die (dice cube) or a LEGOŽ brick plus a plate.

This is a cross section of the system.

It is sprung by a rubber band which makes it ajustable by changing out the band. I use the LEGOŽ black rectangular rubber band.

I included an ldd file that is close to my HummerŽ but it isnt perfect because I wanted it to be available through LEGOŽ factory because, well, I dont know why. Use it if you like, but give me credit.

Cool, its alot harder to build suspension at this scale, as well as the shape and details on the car. So I thought you did a pretty good job. But steering, thats almost impossible! Though I actually managed to fit a basic steering in my 12wide Charger, which works very good, you can even turn the wheels as you roll it over the floor. You can take a look if you want. Its also fun that you write so much about your creation, which I don't, can't find anything to say. Phew, thats a long comment, oh well have a nice day ;) -Albin
