LS 1210 class battleship 'Remorseless'
Since I still don't have the time to build new stuff, here is another one from the dusty archives.
About this creation
The Longship Remorseless was built for two purposes:

  • To defend the galaxy against anyone the people who built it wanted to defend it against;
  • To score chicks

It's not difficult to imagine why the geeky engineers thought this ship might be the solution to all of their girl problems. Well technically, there were no girl problems at all, because there also weren't any girls to start with. But this loooong battleship was going to be their ticket to babe heaven! Allegedly.

This 80-stud ship (without the rear antennas) has long been taken apart again, so the only thing I had were these rather grainy pics. Here you see (or don't see) the powerful aft section of the ship, with 11 ion cannons (above the '1') and a lot more turrets and torpedo ports. It's what I like to call the business end of the ship.

The 11 ion cannons firing simultaneously in a display of raw brutal power (and a bit of dating frustation).

In this side view, the different sections of the ship become quite clear (click the picture to go long):

  • The rear of the ship is reserved for battle purposes only. Here are the sensors, the cannons, the engines, the command center. You know, the usual deal with battleships.
  • The mid section of the ship is reserved for living quarters, life support and entertainment. Since the galaxy doesn't need defending every day, the people on board might get bored really quickly if it wasn't for the cinemas, ice rink and gravity-free tropical swimming pool. With tucans.
  • The navigational/steering deck is situated at the front of the ship.

The Remorseless wooshing overhead, in a pathetic attempt to impress some impressionable young ladies stranded on one of the smaller moons of Uranus.

Impressive, isn't it?

Must be the kind of long ship that goes in one deep space and out the other; no pulling back ... Very cool!

Great ship Steef, but why do you use ion-canons and not plasma-beamers?;)

Yet another proof why you're one of my absolute fav builders: flawless innovative design and a humourous touch combined. Wonder what old dr Freud would have to say bout this one...? I also envy your photo editing skills, the pictures are great! Cheers!

Cause I'm long, and I'm strong And I'm down to get the friction on. Nice job, and I am especially fond of your colour scheme. Lee.

With a ship that long, there's gotta be a train or something in there right? Also, great color scheme, it looks evil >=)

Another Circle SDP(your name) Ship! I like this design very much. It looks like it would fit the space skeletons ships for some reason. Great job!

Quoting Dan the Man YES !!! Again, another amazing ship ! I LOVE your style so much ! I'm not making this comment to advertise whatsoever, and you don't have to out of politeness, but as a change to cars, I made a specialist MOCpages group dedicated to making models of this 'dark sci-fi' style, and your style exactly matches the theme I have in mind, so if you ever get bored and would like to build a contribution, I've given you an invite :) Dan
Thank you very much. I am sometimes taken aback by the amount of praise I get for some old MOCs of which I think are not much special. But I'm glad to join your group. Haven't joined one in ages, even though I get a fair amount of invitations ;)
