Quoting Sam McLernon
Quick question, how do you control your motors? I mean obviously you have either a wired or wireless remote, but do the motors tie into a circuit board or something with a receiver that connected to a remote??
Hey Sam, the motors are controlled by a receiver which operates on infrared. like a TV remote. Each receiver has two outputs, and there are 4 channels that can be used by up to 4 receivers.....so you could have up to eight functions in one model, ie:drive, steer, raise arm, tilt bucket, outrigger control,winch,etc...I quit building legos for a few years until they started selling these remote control parts, much more challenging and fun than something that sits on a shelf. Hope this helps. If you're interested, Lego has a fully functional remote controlled excavator that goes on the market this fall, model 8043. Later
