This is a pelican i worked around 3 months on.
No, its not overcolored its supposed to be yellow and Black>>>>>White.
The yellow is just a secondary color... (and gray peaces are the most expensive pieces of Lego...).

Quoting Maxwell Leatha GASP! you spelled my name right! Anyway, it's a pretty good pelican. Unfortunately I had to take a star away do to the colors, I know you made it like that to your standards. But a pelican should be the "correct" colors. still a solid 4/5.

im happy with a 4/5. Grey pieces are expensive, so i added a secondary color. Maybe im going to buy grey pieces and switch every yellow piece with it.
