About this creation
This little model was inspired by the changes that are being made to New York City's streets. Broadway, near Times Square, has been repainted so that people can spread out more and enjoy the city on bikes and sitting at little tables.

As little as 5 years ago I would have made this model with four lanes of traffic and lots of cars and buses and trucks and taxis. But now, half of Broadway is for people to bike and walk and sit and enjoy the city. It's a start, and it's great.

Above all, I love making little New York City scenes, and as always, this was a fun little model to make. :)

Very nice little moc! Its simple yet effective! I think you should have the side walk flat but other than that great job. I think the scale is hard to build with though so Id go a little bigger. : ) ~Nate

I love it a lot because it's just a little bit of something with a lot of detail in it. The little people and the cars make the scene so much fuller and complete. I love everything from the street to the buildings. Great job 4/5. Can you please check out my Millennium Falcon?

Very good SNOT work. This is really good for micro scale. I really like the vehicles and the buildings. Nice idea for the little tree design on the walk. This should become a official lego set!;)

Quoting Josh L What does that do to traffic flow?
The funny thing is that when you take out a lane, there's less space for cars, so people walk, bike, or take the train instead. The result is that traffic stays the same... or gets better! Bizarre but true. Watch: http://www.streetfilms.org/archives/on-herald-squares-transformation-and-disappearing-traffic/
