Builder's Addendum: This model was seven years in the making. I originally started building a model of 30 Rockefeller Center (G.E. Building) in early 2002 to complement the other skyscrapers I was designing. I finished about 90% of that model before I ran out of parts. The partially finished model sat on the shelf for the next seven years and I would occasionally contemplate completing it. Finally in early 2009 I resolved to finish it. I quickly discovered that the proportions and building techniques used in the original model were hopelessly out-of-date. I began building a completely new model. This photo shows the original model in the foreground and the new model behind it. After I completed 30 Rockefeller Center, I decided to build the rest of the surrounding classic Rockefeller Center buildings and complete the complex. The older version of 30 Rockefeller Center model was recycled into finishing these new buildings.

The centerpiece of Rockefeller Center is the slab sided 70 story G.E. Building at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

Radio City Music Hall. No, I didn't build nano-sized versions of The Rockettes.

Looking down on the complex. There are fourteen buildings situated on six city blocks. In the model each block is a separate sub-model, and they are all connected to their neighboring blocks via technic pins.

Several of the building feature rooftop gardens and landscaping.

Top of the Rock

The famous skating rink and Christmas tree.

One of the reasons I like to photograph this model is the density of all the buildings. It's easy to place the camera inside the model and be completely surrounded by the cityscape.

MOCpages' Sean Kenney spots a nano-sized representation of his light blue LEGO Nintendo DSi in the window of the model's Nintendo store.

The best LEGO model of the Rockefeller Center ever! My absolute favorite detail is the fact that the tan 1x2 grill tiles give the front of 30 Rock the exact number of window columns as it has in real life! Awesome job! Truly a testament to your patience in finding the perfect techniques!

Wow, it's amazing enough when you build one of your giant skyscrapers, but to build all fourteen building and plus all the ground detail of the entire Rockefellar Center, Is just stunning, every single element is up to your incredible standards for detail. Superb. ~T

Wow, this is beautiful beyond words. I've gotta say though, before today, I always thought the center was merely the center building =) Also, how did you get Sean to pose for you?
