Abbey of Saint Rumare
A fortified church in hostile lands.
About this creation

Almost immediately after pacifying the area, the conquering crusaders decided a rock sticking out of a lake would be the perfect location to build a church and show their faith.

Not long after they finished their house of God though, they found the need for fortifications around it became more and more urgent, with increasing attacks from heretic and blasphemous cults that were still active in the area.

With funds from the Vatican fortifications were built up around the church, and the crusaders garisoned in the fort fought off countless attacks and sieges.

Close-up of the abbey.

And one of the spire.

This is the east end of the abbey.

Here's the gatehouse and the front of the fortifications.

And a view of the front curtain wall.

On the back side, the rocks and water make a good natural defense.

Some of the houses within the fortifications.

And a closer view.

Even now the heretics of the area are still building up blasphemous tokens to their false gods.

So the Crusaders called in a fellow religious fanatic cult, the Hand of God, who didn't hesitate to send in a small strike force to raid the somewhat unsuspecting cultists' lands.

Random detail view of the fort in between.

This is where the dwarves, Robert and Bruce live.

A closer look at the charging warriors.

This which is probably summoning something. Why else would you be standing on a stone slab supported by some poles?

Aliencat and Jobasha had a little bet that this peasant wouldn't be able to bring them a carrow without eating it.

Some of the local forestmen have also taken position to take out any flanking heretics.

This dude is chained to the pole behind him, otherwise he'd rip the whole place apart.

And finally a view of the inside of the church.

Quoting Lori Woodel Amazing! How much do you think you have invested in this? How much would you sell one of your castles for, IF they were for sale? - Lori
Everything is for sale, for the right price. If you're serious about buying it, I can figure out how much this would cost. You can find my e-mail address on my main page.

This is a very nice piece of castle-y goodness. Everything is well thought out and it's clear plenty of effort was put into this. I find the heretic camp to be quite interesting, but I think it needs some tents or something like that. More idols maybe? I hope my two cents have helped a little!

Truly Herculean work ! I especially love the detail on all sides,(my only peeve are bland walls on modular town buildings for example),not only sideways but also vertical.Very intricate work on the curch. I love the massing, the design, the liveliness with minifigs and the colors. A true centerpiece.

This must be why there's been no activity from you for so long. This is Awesome! I love that Aliencat is there. The first comment guy, don't touch his favorite builder button, it Rick Rolls you. I have an Idea for the spire, instead of exo-robot hands, you could use minifigure hands. They'd look better I think. fantastic job! ~Blake
