A house, big whoop.
About this creation
Built this over the last two nights, mainly just testing out how a few things might look (such as the inset windows, the doorway and roof. There are some problems with it, number one being it's a bit bigger than I wanted. I was trying to MOC up something close to the "footprint" or standard of Medieval Market and in that quest I failed. I'm not too happy with the roofline itself, but the cheese slopes give it the tiled look I wanted. Just need to pick up some of that cheese in brown, dark gray, or dark red to make patterns or to indicate roof repairs. I'm never overly enthusastic about my MOCs, and it's true in this case, but I have a better idea of how I'll approach the next one.

The cheese slope idea turned out well for the roof. Where the roof touches the house requires some filling in of the gaps (45 degree slopes?). I really like the inset window - that is very clever. Lee.
going to try the 45 degree slopes tonight, but since I don't have enough of the right color yet it'll just be a test. I may drop the upper floor by a brick or two and try an idea to pinch off that gap at the roof peak. |

I see what you were trying to do with the windows, but it works better if the windows were square imo. Also, some detail, like vines, would be appropriate on the 2nd story. Definitely potential here! |

That's a nice little house. I like the cheese slope roof. I'd seen one where they were all going the other way and the roof was smoother. This is more intriging. see ya. garth |

I think the upper floor is too big compared to the ground floor. But wow, you have a lot of those cheese slopes, and they work pretty fine as roof tiles ;) but I would use some other slopes for the front, there's a big gap... |

It looks pretty sweet, so why are you so bummed out about it? You should give yourself a pat on the back for the moc, and that roof technique =). |

Cool, nice job! To me, it looks like the gray part would be the basement... I love the roof! |

I was wondering what that cheeseslope idea would turn out like. I like it! The concept came across beautifully. Remeber that one when you do the next house. ~ Chris. |
