this is my custom rc hot rod. it runs off of power functions. XL motor for drive and M motor for steering. this is the second hot rod of this size i have made. the first one wasnt posted because i didnt have an account back then. i have tried out automatic gear boxs in this car but i found out that they arnt very practical and they take up a lot of space. please rate and comment.
About this creation
side. here you might notice a hinge looking thing. this was originally going to be the doors but they didnt work that well so i decided not to have doors. i left the thing on there because i didnt feel like taking it off.
front. here you can see the "hood ornament" and obviously the front. in order to put the plates on top of the front i had to arch them upward slightly but im not sure that you can see that. the yellow technic rod i just never replaced with a better color.
back. the powerfunctions receiver box sticks out quite a lot because there isnt much room in there also it is sitting on top of the drive motor. there are exhaust pipes.
here you can see the very lacking interior. i had to put the battery box here because it was the only place it fit properly. if i put it in the back the back would sag and it might pressure the motor too much. the only thing in the interior is a steering wheel. i didnt actually have any steering wheels so i had to improvise...
here you can see the plates better.
this is a glimpse of the steering mechanism. im not good at making them but this one turned out fairly well. you can also see the motor.
here you can see the drive mechanism which is very simple because there is no suspension.
if you think that the wheels are too big, well, it was either those or the small wheels. i dont have any medium sized wheels.
Nice style, cool wheels !
I don't tink the wheels look too big, it suit thre hot rod style; and they certainly look better than wheels that are too small !
