I am nearly finished with my reorganization of the collection, but got the itch last night to build something and avoid writing the next Glomshire Knights strip -- don't hold that against me. This is what I came up with: two vignettes. Feeling inadequate, I also tried lighting them in different ways just to prove to myself that I can take a decent photo if I want to -- full disclosure: I have won a photography award on the professional level for sports photography, therefore I should know what I'm doing. The photo below is me trying to be Alex Eylar . . . I'll never be that cool.
Ok, backstory on vig #1: Bob the magician makes an appearance in a swirling cloud of smoke. The Wolfpack dude draws his blade in surprise, but he wouldn't have a chance against Bob's awesome power!
This vig started with me just playing around with the 2x4 round plates which I should have snagged more of at Brickworld *kicks self for not listening to Heather. I thought of stairs at first, then this scene popped into my head . . . like magic (groan).
Vig #2 is the result of messing around thinking about wall details for a possible castle project. Didn't like it too much, but what was going to be a breaking and entering vig became something a little more fun. Be careful what you wish for when you want to know what's on the other side of the fence, I guess.

Nice smoke effect. Heather is right. Always buy more than you think you'll ever need, then get another bunch of them. The effect might be improved by adding a second swirl of smoke going in the other direction. Last year at our local show one of the guys took clear 1x2 plates and made a waterspout out of them, and used that to suspend a rowboat in it. see ya. garth
