A 10 story apartment highrise that sits atop a 3 floor parking deck. A veranda with a pool sits in the back between the two towers, and a clock tower sits on the front. The building is 3 feet (1 meter) tall.
About this creation
The apartment building consists of two identical towers: one is 5 stories, the other is 7. Between the two towers is a lobby with a 3-story vaulted cieling. The exterior of the building also features a large clock in the front, and a rear veranda with a swimming pool and lounge area. The building sits atop a 3-level parking garage that supplies parking for both residents as well as the city's many visitors.
"Conroy Towers" is located across from the three largest shopping centers in the city, and its parking facilities are used for both guests to the city as well as residents of the building.
Design Notes
The building is built using a 48x48 stud large grey baseplate as its foundation. The building is actually 52x52, overhanging onto the city sidewalks 4 studs in each directions. Each floor of the parking deck is another grey baseplate. 2x2 pillars were included every 16 studs for stability, and it ended up helping the whole "parking deck" look & feel anyway. :)
The lobby between the two towers slides up and out for easy access. This lobby leads to raised floors in each of the towers' first floor foyers.
Inspiration
The building was inspired by a building in Newark, NJ that I would often see from the train on my commute to Manhattan. Across from the Newark train station is a large office complex that has multiple towers atop a parking deck, with a clock in between. Albeit, it looks nothing like this, but I at least got the general idea from this building.
Simply stunning. It is Scrumcholesent (SNL) I've tried to build a city many times but it always ends up in ruins when I leave without telling my little brother and sister to stay away from it.
