The Shade Class Shuttlecraft is a versatile unit and plays an important role is E.O.S. fleet operations. Its primary mission is to act as a lifeboat in emergency situations. The craft requires only one pilot, but can hold an additional three passengers or 800 lbs of cargo. The shade is also used to transport personnel between ships or into orbit from planetary bases. The Shade has occasionally been used for insertion missions of small special opps teams. The inherent stealth characteristics of the craft make it ideal for such missions. During these missions it can be fitted with a light rotating laser cannon or a rocket pod.
About this creation
This view shows the craft with the landing gear fully extended.
The large viewport allows pilots to easily and safely make close maneuvers with large capital ships.
The eight thrust pods give the craft enough thrust to break orbit on a typical class M world. The entrance ramp opens from the bottom side of the craft when the landing gear is fully extended.
A perspective view showing the thrust pods folded in to save space while the craft is stored aboard a capital ship.
A perspective view showing the thrust pods extended to provide increased maneuverability during flight.
A forward view. Weapons are mounted below the “nose” of the craft.
