About this creation

This is my tanker which I have named Delphi. It is based on VLCC (very large crude carrier) principles to scale with my other ship models. The scale is that as set by the 10152 Maersk Sealand set (1:120). It is a waterline model that uses a common tanker livery (white superstructure, red deck, black hull).

The ship's name had to be six characters due to the available width on the stern for using letter tiles, and Delphi popped into my head and stuck; I think it came from Command and Conquer (but the Delphi of mythology was the oracle of the ancient Greek gods).

Delphi was built pretty much according to the original design created using MLCAD but I decided that her long sides were too plain so I refitted her with livery markings TABNER LINE down each side in 7-plate (which un-scaled equals just over 2.5-metre) high lettering using sand green.
