This was a really big improvement for me. I made a big step on the mandibles and the accuracy of the ship.
About this creation
Yep, there's the awesome front. I added the plate on the side of the mandible, which I'll soon put detail onto.
Using the Incredible Cross-sections book, I revised the greeblies in the maintenence pits to make them more accurate. You can also see the slope that will become the deflector shield generator.
Here's one of my favorite views of the mandible. I also have started to add greeblies on the side.
My BIGGEST improvement in terms of accuracy. I widened the gaps in between the hulls from two studs to four studs. I also added the "wall" which will become the docking ring.
I finished making the tips of the mandibles by adding the lights on to them.
Here's a rear view of the ship. It looks SO much more accurate with the widened gap.

it's pretty good, but is it your own design or did you get the instructions. Oh and I only have two star wars sets thats why there weren't many legos |

This is certainly one of the better built from scrath falcons on mocpages, you probably could make it more round, but I really like the interior |

This is a really good Falcon. There are a couple of things that could be improved, but it is really good. |

I really like how you got the interior done right. Now, this obviously affects the exterior from looking perfect, but I prefer interiors of ships anyway. I'm glad you finally settled on a design (a good one I might add) for the roof, that certainly could not have been easy. The only real criticism I have is about the thing on the bottom of the cockpit. I'm not sure what it is, but it comes out too far, it makes the cockpit loose its cone shape.
P.S. Thanks for the comment on Nemesis, I'll work on better photos for the next chapter, I kinda just put the scene together and took pictures right before going to bed so it was kinda rushed. XD |

This looks very promosing! Great job on the angles. The plates fit very well. This is a perfect beginning to make a Millennium. But now comes the hard part: making the greebles. Maybe you can take a look at how great builders make greebles. I think that would help you alot. Can't wait to see it finished! ~M |

This is looking really good so far. I love the thruster area but I think that the cockpit and the hallway leading to the cockpit is a little too boxy. I'll be sure to check back later for more updates |

I have spent three hours carefully going over all 9 journals, and it looks like in the future there will be more journal entries. It looks like this Falcon you are building is almost UCS scale!!! First off, excellent use of curved pieces, smooth hinge pieces, and click hinge pieces to create the traditional shape of the Falcon with non-square interior corridors and rooms. Next, yes, I see that you have been using the incredible cross sections book for reference -- it really shows. Recommendation: I would think about reinforcing those double lines of hinge bricks you have for the entire rear wall of the 'saucer section' of the Falcon. I am guessing you might do that anyhow, but check out the instructions for the minifig scale Falcon, if you have not done so already, to see how they reinforced them. I would suggest a simple trick of plates and brackets. I too am working on an MOC with a double line of hinge bricks, and I have had to redo that part of the MOC twice in order to reinforce that part of the ship. I am guessing that you are working on detailing right now -- you are going to have alot of fun with that, there is a lot of detailing space available on your Falcon. It's a blank canvas waiting for paint, ha ha. Really, I do not have much to say at this point, you are off to a nice start, and you are dedicating time and effort to building this and you are using great resources. Just keep at it. I will spend some more time looking it over, and if I have any other suggestions or hints, I will comment here on Journal 9. |
