The Messerschmitt Bf 109-Z (for "Zwilling" - twin) was a German Zerstörer (destroyer, heavy fighter) project. To simplify production, it was to be built out of two standard Bf 109-F fuselages connected by a special center wing. The starboard cockpit was replaced by an extra fuel tank.
About this creation
As much as I love unconventional aircraft concepts, my heart als beats for the classic WWII warbirds.
So, the "Zwilling" was the perfect way to combine these interests.
This MOC is based on HIEN's great Me 109-F that you can find on brickshelf.com.
It was easy to rebuild and I only slightly modified his construction.

All hail the Nazi twin '109...
xD That's cool
Yeah...well... it's not so much about the fact that it's a Nazi plane but about the design itself, but thank you. |

The Messerschmitt rendition is flawless, I'm so impressed with your ability to build such accurate models down to the smallest detail.
Well, the basic design is from HIEN, I just made the next the step. But thanks for the applause :-) |

Very unconventional and interresting plane!
The lines of the BF109 are nicely reproduced, and captures the style well. The camo-colours are also a plus! ;-)
Congratz! |
