THE CONTINUED TRAVELS OF SIGJIBFIG
ADVENTURES IN THE SOUTH SEAS
No, not really.
Anyway, continuing from Nicky B.'s installment, we find our plastic heroine in the antipodean realms, a land far, far away, a long time- sorry, got carried away. Anyway...
"Oh, hello there."
'I'm Areetsa; Arcon can't make it, so I'm going to be running this tour.'
'Yes. He handles the technical side of things, I take the public relations part.'
'This is the Prime Shelving; most of the extremely fragile stuff is stored here, along with a fair number of the stupidly robust things.'
'Minifigs, raised baseplates, hovertank, all sorts really."
"Why don't most of them move?"
'This place is almost unbearably chaotic and movement is avoided as much as possible. As a rule, only minifigs move around here, everything else stands as still as possible. All the fragile stuff around here; if anything gets damaged, there'll be a high price.
If the AS-72 falls and cracks into pieces on the bed, it's mostly solid and the hardest part of reassembly would be reposing the legs.'
'If a Juno falls over and twitches its collarplates out of place, it's a lot harder to fix.'
"A bit... messy.. around here, isn't it?"
'I wouldn't know. I don't travel much and similar areas I've seen are worse.'
"Don't travel much? You're a sigfig, they go scooting over the world all the time!"
'Some do, some don't.'
'As a rule, folk don't like big space-lizard things invading their personal space and I don't blame them.'
'-here we are. Secondary shelving, same case, similar purposes.'
'A bit more open around here.'
"Open enough for them to fly remote control airplanes, anyway."
'To fly, yes. To land, no.'
"Ah yes, I saw that."
'Over there is the first world war trenchscape.'
'As you can see, the guys over there managed to bring their 'plane down in one piece.'
"Shouldn't they be shooting each other?"
'Not really. Mr. B runs things on a 'cinema' type operation, around here it's much the same.'
'We still shoot clone troopers on sight, though. Great fun; some of the little blighters can jump.'
"I see, I see."
'-we have a rather delightful little pub.'
"You've got a ruddy great hole in the floor!"
'I said it was delightful.'
'I never said it was finished.'
'The other trenchscape is located here. Not much difference; it'll get its moment of fame after I post the third installment of UNEtag V.'
"Third? I thought tags were done one at a time?"
'This one is the exception; I'm doing it in five installments: phase one to four are basic bang-bang-boom stuff, phase five is background shots and photos of stuff I thought looked interesting.'
'More stuff here, not much of real value.'
"Oh, you've got castle figs, have you?"
'Not per se, no, but 'castle' meaning medieval period, yes.'
'Thanks to the short tripod on my fleshy half's camera, I can't really show anything of the stuff up there. Not much good stuff there either.'
"Who's the guy in the cowboy hat?"
'We don't talk about him around here.'
'He just showed up one day; pretty harmless, as long as you don't get too close.'
'Over here is the other shelf. There's more than this, but this is the best lot.'
'Been like this for at least sixteen months, with a few minor adjustments.'
'Whole shelves at a time.'
'Arcon's definition of 'minor' is a little fuzzy.'
'Up here we have- whoops.'
'Gonna have to get someone to look at the calibrations on that teleporter, someone's going to get hurt one day, antigravity shoes or no.'
'Standard equipment, useful for when the teleporter's on the blink again.'
"Ooh.. what's that?"
'Been there for ages; doesn't move much, occasionally gets minor, and I mean REALLY minor, adjustments.'
"Who are those?"
"Relatives of yours?"
'The base design used in me has been around for years; there's a huge backstory floating around in Arcon's skull, but they're not likely to be posted for a while.'
'It's a bit complicated.'
'That thing dates back a long time, to before colour patterns were considered important around here, in fact.'
'What we do know is that it's called a 'mad dog' and is SUPPOSED to weigh around sixty tons.'
'Zheng could probably tell you more, assuming he knows anything about 3050 era tech, but he's not exactly welcome around here these days.'
'Anyway, it's been cannibalized for parts, as is the usual around here; it's only still about because it doesn't use any useful bits.'
'Don't rightly know.'
'He's been about, in one form or another, for a fair while.'
"Can you get rid of that annoying 'poof' sound?"
'And popping over to the other side of the bed we have-'
'Games of varying types and ratings.'
'Various strategy titles mostly.'
'Ancient tractor thing, WIP vignette based on a comment Arcon got a while ago, weapons, headgear, that sort of thing-'
'...nothing. Excuse me a moment...'
"Hold still Doright, I'll get you down in a jiffy!"
'I thought I said something about not doing this until any and all visitors had left.'
"Look, I've got a prior appointment okay?"
"Just let me finish doing away with this do-gooder and I'll be right with you."
'Just don't do it again; there's a very limited supply of black capes, you know...'
"Are you threatening me?"
'I might be.'
'Over here we have a cruddy SHIP from days gone by and that's it for this shelf.'
'And this is the workspace, where the 'magic' happens.'
'Just don't stay down here overnight if you value your limbs.'
'Arcon is infamous, and rightly so, for on-the-spot amputations while working on minifigs.'
"Okay then, who're the pile of body bits down in the corner?"
"And what the blazes is this I'm standing on?"
'Question one, those are bits of a contest entry.'
'Question two, you're standing on the power system for a Maxtor Basics external harddrive.'
'Last stop, and totally not an excuse to show off the PC game collection, we have some old refugee-from-the-parts-shoebox mocs.'
"Wait, where's the acid pit?"
'I don't have one.'
'It's a useful deterrent against tourists.'
"Well.. the cats?"
'Harmless to lego, unless you're fragile and on the floor, in which case you might get knocked over.'
'They live outside anyway.'
'Well, I'm going to be shipping you off to Hastati Man now, goodbye.'
"Wait, how am I going to get there?"
'Well, you've still got Nicky's rustbucket hoverbike.'
'In your pocket; just go to a convenient place and add water.'
"Lego is plastic; plastic doesn't dehydrate."
'This type does, okay?'
'It uses handwavium, which is when we all wave out hands and say pay no attention to the madman behind the curtain.'
Here y' go, the not-quite-long-awaited Areetsa INJAHIAO grouptag installment.
Sorry for dragging it out a bit, but I was also contemplating using panels and such.
Figured I was taking too long and decided to take a slight hit on certain scores.
Rules are at http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/116288, since this page is going to take long enough to load anyway.

Battalion Wars 2 on Wii? I have it too! Your friend-code so we can verse on Wi-fi?
Part one: the Wii isn't networked. Part two: even if it was, the parental units don't like the whole concept of multiplayer with someone they've never met. Part three: even if those two statements were false, I've currently been rather busy with a different game. So, eh, thanks for offering, but no thanks.

I wonder, do you have Metal slug 7?
Advance and Anthology. And absolutely no cash or options for wheedling it out of my mother, since my choice of expensive gifts this christmas was Scribblenauts. Besides, I'm not really sure I'd like it; the only reason Anthology's playable is because I've got a couple of spare Gamecube controllers available.
