ULPA-5 battlearmour
A softsuit for anything except real combat. A veritable deathtrap. As many of its newbie pilots say, ULP-Ah...
About this creation
Constructed for mass production at very low cost, the early ULPA-5 failed every test the Imperial Zenexabas Armed Forces threw at it, being fragile, thinly armoured, slow, unagile and generally dangerous.
Its best point was the tried-and-true Zenarms 7r machinegun, which isn't saying much; that thing has had a lot of adjustments over time, and has now reached a fairly high standard from its original mediocre roots.

Modifications were made; it was then armoured enough to protect the really vulnerable stuff, but the pilot still sat up top as a testament to the fragility of man.
He could not crouch down, as the design was and is rightly infamous for its instability on rough ground, being able to trip with worrying ease. The pilot's stance had a major part in the balance of the thing; he could* lean forwards going uphill and backwards on the way down to keep it upright. With a competent driver, the thing could reach a mediocre mobility level, but anything taller than knee height had to be circumvented, the onboard mobility computer not being awfully skilled at vertical climbing.

*Had to.

The Empire never bought them; they were little more than a machinegun emplacement with legs, and far better designs like the Juno and Phoenix were available.
They became fairly popular with bandit lords and planetary nobility, however; they were superior to foot troops (barely) and less expensive than a lot of superior designs, so they could be purchased in bulk to make up a relatively fast moving patrol force or palace guard that could bring the firepower of a heavy machinegun to bear on rebel forces and rival banditos in the roughest terrain, assuming the pilots knew what they were doing.

Not many of them did; the pilot, being exposed as he was, was often shot off regularly, allowing the vehicle to be captured with ease.
It is telling that the rebel forces on Antares IV, on which this unit was deployed in the service of a local noble, did not use them at all; after the pilot of this example was shot off in a routine raid, the thing was sold off to another guerilla band.
Who, it should be said, soon lost their best warrior while trying to use it effectively.

On an unrelated note, the thing is available for sale to the UNE and all associated allies, although if any of them wish to buy some they'll have to sign a lengthy disclaimer absolving the Zenexabas Empire of any blame for casualties caused; all we do is facilitate the sale, it's not our fault if the thing's broken.
___________________________________________________________________

A walking pic for Mr. Kescenovitz; the rebel is in the background to prove that the little ****** isn't propped up against the background like in the previous pics; little monster is unstable as a bowling ball atop a pyramid coated in oil. Falls over constantly, but I can't lean it forwards without pointing the machinegun at the ground, which is not a good thing.

Interestingly, it's more stable in this walking pose than when standing; dunno why, probably because a leg is farther back. It tips over backwards, you know.

This was a VERY quick build, being done in less than an hour or so.
I'd like to point out Galvan .'s COP walker thing as inspiration for this, as I had the idea while looking at it.

Quoting Dali Zheng You are lying.
Quoting Areetsa C Teabagger commented on one of mine and I had a look at his single moc in return.
I have looked through MOCs which "teabagger" has rated, and none of them are yours. He left no such comment on any of your MOCs. Then you noticed a comment that teabagger left on my Venus Gospel which was posted 10 days after you commented on it. And if you really didn't read through it, how would you know that he provoked me?
Ahem. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/110054#comments. I noticed you claimed he provoked you while having another look at his page while bored and did a little research. /topic.

Quoting Nowhere man I can see not everyone was happy with my previous comment. I'm not trying to get involved, I'm not trying to accuse anyone of anything. If I have at least one major flaw, it's being too trusting. Dali, I know that you and phong aren't one and the same (at least, I'm extremely highly certain of it). By saying "you all should become politicians" is my way of gently poking fun at your seemingly pointless and seemingly endless (I'm only saying those because that's the first impression. Once someone takes the patience to treck across the site and read the whole argument, it makes sense, but still seems pointless) I'm not taking any sides in this argument.
And I'm glad of that because I am utterly sick of this matter and am extracting myself as much as possible from this web of lies.

Quoting Knoll grey you can tell them apart if you read their comments.(phong and dali)
I know, I know. I was making a comparison; just as he cannot definitively prove I am Teh Teabagger, I cannot definitively prove he is not -insert member name here-. It's the internet; ways of hiding one's identity abound. Something doesn't smell right about this, though; why was he so quick to leap at me? There must be a reason behind it; this 'Teh Teabagger' alternate account would be an ideal way to make publicity for oneself, if only one could hide their involvement...

Quoting Dali Zheng Nowhere in that statement did you say that I can't effectively prove that I made them without taking more pictures. I could easily take a photo with a handwritten note or object etc. to prove that something I built is mine. As for proving that I am Phong, that's besides the point here, you're just trying to distract from the issue. As far as proving it, we could show pictures of our driver's licenses or passports which have photo ID, name, birthday, etc. on it, but it's too risky doing something like that to a stranger online. Proving that I'm not Phong is really besides the point.
I don't really care. My point stands: there is no way to definitively prove identity online. All someone'd have to do would be to give a fake name or email address or use an IP proxy.

Quoting Areetsa C I stated that for all I know, you're a thief; thanks to my ISP, I cannot access flickr, and thus you could not prove definitively that anything you posted is yours.

No; ever heard of proxies? IP addresses and e-mail addresses won't prove anything.

Quoting Ryan T. M. stop this nonsense u have no point dali...
I've specifically told him that, but reason is not his strong suit. For instance, his explanation for why he's not actually Phong 'that's what SHE said' Chang's alternate account, was: 'I'm not Phong Chang, that's it.' Well, how about this, Dali: I'm not Teh Teabagger, that's it. You prove you're not Chang, I'll prove I'm not Teh Teabagger.

I do think Phong should be getting the attention he's getting. Just because he doesn't have an exact style, does not mean he shouldn't get a lot of attention. His mechas are great, and few people can make them like that.

Quoting mithryl dlarix Areesta, you'd better get up here and defend yourself, man. I'm doing my best, but there's a lot of people leaning in Dali's direction, even though he has no proof. They made a group called Illuminati specifically to impeach you. I know you're not teh teabagger--none of the "evidence" fits. But its only my word against his and he's a lot more popular. Please hurry. -Mithryl
There is no definitive method of proving whether or not someone is a fake; IP proxies and e-mail sites abound, and it all boils down to the accuser's word against that of the accused. I am intending to maintain a level of complete honesty in this matter, meaning no confidential letters flying about. After all, if you can't trust someone to tell you one thing, how do you know you're getting the whole truth elsewhere? Illuminati? Hardly.. original.

Quoting Nolan C. Really, your gonna fight about THAT? I mean come on, you two. You're both great builders and have different styles unique to yourselves. Stop arguing over pointless things that clutter up the site! Jeez... anyhow, great little walker you have here. (despite the description)
I don't like being accused of doing things I didn't. Despite the description? Oh, that. Well, I'd say that the build is fine, but the pilot is too exposed for my tastes. This was just a quick 'ooh, that's an idea...' build; you know, you get a quick idea, probably not practical, and you go tootling off to the lego shoeboxes to put it together. Also known as a 'tablescrap'.
