Counterblast
A military Mecha
About this creation

Developed as a counter strike Mecha.

Capable of fitting into bomb shelters and emerging later to aid in civil defense.

Equiped with two 'arm' mounted accelerator cannons, and four starlord machine guns.

The lack of armour on the ankle joints is often pointed out as a flaw in the Mecha's design.

However they are little more then titanium ball joints and none have ever been reported as damaged by small arms fire.

The main drive comes from the knee and hip joints and these are much more armoured.

Corporate sponsorship is common on even Military Mecha since the arrival of full immersion War coverage on 24 hour News Networks.

The high ratings lead to this relatively cheap form of advertising taking off big time.

However the images of a CocoCalo branded Mecha massacring a village in 2037's Dakota Independence War has resulted in the more subtle markings we see today.

The Counterblast has proved itself a valuable asset in both urban and suburban warfare.

Built: May 2009.

I saw this creation in a book once and when I was reading it you were one of the best builders in that book, and if you have a chance be sure to check out Alex Rode as well.

As Goldman might say..."Winner, winner. Chicken (walker) dinner. Some great parts usage on this bad boy. You managed to create a good bit of texture and sense of detail with minimal parts (a sign of a great builder). Some nice color work as well. Great job!

Excellent work, Mark. Ever since I saw those new crate pieces for the first time, I've been begging for someone to make a missile box with them. It seems I got my wish-- and a fantastic mech to boot! Nice job!

It's a little understated but that just makes it more credible as a mass-produced mech. I can picture them working in squads and clearing out hostile areas effectively. I especially like the shape of the cockpit, that large canopy works well for this.

Just your average every-day Mark Stafford creation. Which is just another way of saying over-the-top-awesome! I'm not sure I like the background though.
