Yay for bright lamps (lighting) and awesome backgrounds that bring color out!
About this creation
This was made over the course of a few days, experimenting with my new love for all things Rebellion (I guess you could say it's in preparation for the Endor set). The base is sturdy, all technic squares (the hollow ones) connected with both technic and baseplates.
The Rebel S.A.T. was a multi-purpose vehicle that boasted 2 laser cannons and heavy laser cannons, an anti-air turret, a passenger area with armament bay, two primary thrusters and two gigantic secondary thrusters. This fab transport earned the nickname "Base Buster" for its speed and versatility, as a squad of these would sport troopers, weapons, its own laser cannons, and the thrusters provided the extra speed to escape before any reinforcements showed up. Unfortunately these weren't used to their full potential, as the Alliance to Restore the Republic were too caught up (financially) in the production of starfighters and heavier land craft, like the T4-B heavy tank.
Dig the turret. I went through a couple of designs, all too big, before settling on this.

The LEGO version fits three or an uncomfortable four, but I suspect a real version (where everyone's typically skinner) would fit more.

Armament bay features guns and thermal detonators. Again, the real version would probably fit more of both.

Empty passenger area, showing buttons that do who knows what.

Back with engines. Notice the difference in angles between the inverted slopes? Yeah, I know, real weird…

Go here for the flickr set of it, with extra pics.

Cool! I like the weapons hold, and how there are a bunch of different angles and stuff. Good job! |
