There is more than one breed of the alien used to create XMs, and each breed produces a different kind of warrior. One instance of such is the Ladja, a rare and powerful XM only given to a handful of elite pilots. Standing at 24 meters tall, its height makes Ladja an imposing sight on the battlefield even without its vicious performance.
One Ladja of particular note is that belonging to Pomfret Akumu, after he was stripped of his Korol. This Ladja, a particularly mature specimen, proved to be an even match for Alexander Kanbara and his Kerykeion Mark III, recently completed. During his first appearance, he destroyed the crippled Korol as well as its pilot before engaging the worn-out Alex, having the upper hand for the majority of the fight - echoing their first battle, the arrival of reinforcements drove him off. In all future battles, the two machines and their pilots were evenly matched - the rivalry would not be concluded before the end of the war.
In stark contrast to the Korol, Ladja is sleek and agile, possessing extraordinary flexibility despite being significantly larger than its opponents. Its size also gives it great reach, making it a terror in melee combat. This size and speed, together with its imposing appearance, give it the upper hand in terror warfare.
Ladja's primary weapons are internal - it can manipulate the alien energy used in Peska sabers to a much greater extent, allowing it to generate beam sabers over its hands or release it in large blood-red bolts characterized by a signature droning noise. Much like the Kerykeion Mark III, it has limited flight capabilities, but in Earth gravity these are limited to hovering and assisting jumps.
After the war's end, Ladja would be the only XM that was not decommissioned, an act that would soon prove valuable as the true nature of the threat facing mankind came to be revealed, a threat over 50 years in the making...
This is the most flexible machine I've ever built, with the overlarge joints being adapted from much larger mechs I've seen. Unfortunately, the beam effects on the title picture are purely cosmetic, and don't come with the instruction file. As you might have guessed, Ladja and the Mark III are the bishops of the chess set.
