Based on specifications issued by the US Army for a light scout combat vehicle that could maintain a pilot for three days (water and fuel), maintain a speed of 30 mph, and be able to stand up against sustained small arms fire; Chrysler won the bid and used groundbreaking technology to produce the Scarab for use in the deserts and mountains of Afghanistan.
