Battleship USS Missouri
I don't yet have enough bricks for the larger Iowa class I'd like to make, so for now I had to be content with this smaller one. It is about 30 inches long. I couldn't think of any effective way to build the smaller weapons at this scale. Edit: changed the superstructure a bit and modified the hull to have less freeboard, was sitting way too high out of the water originally. Edit 2: Heavily revamped...proper wooden deck, changes to 16" and 5" turrets, anchors, modifications to superstructure.

Quoting Tim Barred Sir... AWESOME! Any chance you can send me the LDD file if one exists? I'd LOVE to build this bad boy for my collection!
Thanks, glad you liked it! Unfortunately I don't have any plans in any format, sorry.

Very nice! I don't know why I haven't seen it before... You might want to detail it more, beacuse it is really surprising how useful some parts can be. Experiment a little bit, you'll amaze yourself when you'll find out how many possibilities we have with bricks in our hands. When I look back now, I know that I could have done a better job detailing my MOCs. Keep up the good work!

That depends on how detailed and accurate you want to get. Make sure you pick a ship that has lots of good photographs and plans available. Photographs from a number of different angles are important, and plans can help you pick the proper shape. Because of that, Montana class might be difficult - there isn't a lot out there because they were never built. But there is enough to have some fun and give it a shot!

Thanks! Glad you liked it. Montana class is an interesting idea. I'd been working on a larger size Fletcher class destroyer for a bit, but then life got in the way and it has been quite a while since I've had fun playing with any Legos...

very nice i like it i have a suggested have you thought to build a Montana Class Battleship it was the next Class from the Iowas the Montana class would be the only thing to be able to take on the yamato Class Battleships with there 12 16 inch guns compare to the Iowas 9 but unfortunate they cancelled in favor of the Essex Class Carriers so do you think you can build it it would be cool if you do (ps you can get a lot of information on the Montana Class at wikipedia get back to me if you think this is a good idea ok)

Quoting Ben or Noah Frankilin I guess I should have looked a little closer... What I noticed was lack of the AA Machine Guns.
yeah, I considered how to do that, but at this scale the best I could have done was a single stud for each, and it would not have looked good I think.

This, sir, is amazing. great detail even for a mini model. if you have the legos, you should build... the battle of samar, or the battle of denmark strait. those r my 2 favs. keep it up cuz.

Quoting ben/noah franklin Wow! Nice moc man! Is this the 80's version of the Mighty Mo?
Thanks! Actually more representative of the WWII version, for example catapults/crane are still installed, as well as all 10 of the 5"/38. But it certainly is not an exact replica by any means.

Quoting Lego Maniac really awesome.great detail.how did you make the 2x2 parts to bend like that?
You can use hinges at the front to get the sweep of the bow, and the 2x2 will bend nicely into shape.

As Usual, your moc has an outstanding amount of detail. I'm quite a fan of small scale naval models (I have 1/700 scale models of the Yamato and Mushashi and Bismark), and I'm glad to see yours on mocpages. Keep it up!
