Absolutely fantastic work. I am in love with the chaingun and I really prefer mocs that use this method for arm and leg joints instead of using the newer ball joints from the Lego mech kits.

Haha. That is why this is one of my least favorites... it is too similar to the original. My favorite MOCs by me right now are Venus Sabre, Venus Shrike, and Maintenance Mech.

Those grey helmets are also in the Rock Raiders sets. That white armor/helmet you said was in aquanauts, that was the black version wasn't it? I have those pieces, but I can't remember where I got that white gear from.

i looked at my AT and realized that the old red helmet looks kinda like the EVA-00 head, and the addition of the main horn on the new helmet is from EVA-01.

I don't know how many times I've tried to take this apart in my mind to see how you did it.. I eventually figured out you have a lot more specialized peices than me. So I gave up trying to mirror your technique and fell back to my own simpler style. Now my own Venus thingy is about 70% complete, the legs, body, head, and shoulders done. Just thought I'd let you know my progress because I have nothing better to do tonight aside from homework.

I like RC stuff, there's been more of it popping up recently because of the new Power Functions. I'd probably be in on it too if I had any PF stuff and if I wasn't mechanicly challenged. But yeah, I'm excitedly anticipating the tank.

I am building a motorized RC tank, maybe in this theme, maybe UNE. I'm really short on useful white pieces now. I know, the black body looks like a greebly mess in person so it's better this way.

I'm not sure which I like better, what you based it off of or this. I like it, I really like it(but I prefer the one eyed design of squieu's). What's next?

Yeah, I noticed that too! There was something about the overall skinnyness and the shoulders sticking out. And the name AT reminds me of AT Field from Evangelion.

The Venus Collective is similar to the Combine from HL2, but benevolent. Rebuild of Evangelion is split into 4 parts, the first is done, and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are in the making. It's basically a condensed, remade version of the anime, and if you see it in a theater like I did, you can tell they did a much better job with the animation and sound. Everything else plotwise is basically the same. I recommend that you watch the first part of Rebuild, then continue from the anime episodes 7-26. Rebuild will have a different ending though.

So kind of like the Combine from half-life? That's even better! Anyways, about Evangelion-- there are 26 episodes? I thought it was longer than TTGL. Oh well. The concept of the show has always interested me, and I tried to Tivo it once before my dad became addicted to Discovery and erased all me and my brother's Adult Swim recordings (grrrrr!). But the series was remade? has it been finished in the remake, and is it better in terms of plot or story content than the original? Basically, I want to know if it's 'Digitally remastered' or 'New story/plot/characters/voice/etc.'. Whichever you think is better is what I'll watch, probably.

most of my AT is secretly based on Evangelion< you can only really see it in the shoulder blades and the fact that the usually stick straight up.

(I went with the 8 binocular gun build because it's bulkier) Evangelion is 26 episodes long, but I recommend you watch the new Rebuild of Evangelion (basically a remake of the original series with CGI and modern improvements). Evangelion is the best mecha anime ever, bar none. The EVA series are cybernetic angels piloted by humans; if I told you any more I'd spoil it. The Venus Collective is neutral towards humanity as a whole, and there are many humans who are willingly a part of it. Basically the origin of the collective is unknown since it is an aeons-old league of highly evolved species who embrace cybernetic enhancements. Think of it as a trans-human faction.

Oh, I know what you're talking about now. The thing is that on larger mechs, that type of gatling cannon looks too puny and powerless, even if this type is overdone. My only issue with Brian K.'s gatlings is that they're a tad on the small side if you're going for a heavy artillery look, which is why I haven't used them (yet).

Well, apart from the fact I think it could stand to have more armour on the body, this is probably your best yet.

? i don't know what he does, but if you look at any of my hardsuits that have gatlings(particularly my Project Tiny Titan hardsuits), they use the same barrel type, the black technic rod with the grey bits in the middle and on the end(i don't know if that is what he does) i don't know names for most parts, i just call them by what they look like.

It's not too easy to make an 8-barrel gatling cannon without using this method, though it is possible. I personally find it nicer to use the 2x2x1 rounds with 8 niches to make the back, and use four binocs at the tip, but creative license does exist. Or did you mean you prefer the Brian K. style miniguns?

Gotcha, I love that kind of stuff! I never got too into Evangelion, but what little I saw I loved. If you have any good links to sites hosting the videos, I'd watch the whole thing (even though it's really long [that's what she said!], but hey). Is the collective against humanity, or with it? If against, maybe they use human bioelectricity for power, like the Matrix? Or maybe you could make a mech with a human fused into the machinery, to show that he's been forced into fighting his fellow humans by controlling this creature? All your stuff seems very biomechanical, which is a great thing in my book.

i never really liked that style of gun, the one with the binoculars. i don't really know why, i just don't. but its about the mecha not the gun, so it can be overlooked.

It's Venus Collective now. It's scaled to figs, but the only one that will fit a fig is the Shrike, and the fig is concealed in the body without a hatch (ooh scary). The mechs are actually all sentient beings with biological components. Think of EVA series from Evangelion.

Ahhhh, got it. The Brute from Halo is not something you want any of your work confused with, for sure. Yeah, hardsuit design tends to be a kind of rapid, almost trance-like flurry of building that results in something really cool or really not cool, much the former in this case =). BTW, none of your "Venus Assembly" stuff fits figs, right? Just curious, because I haven't done any stuff that doesn't yet, and a lot of the other mech builders out there usually don't fit figs...

Yup, that is the mecha from which I drew inspiration from. Good observation! This was a relatively fast(?) build, I spent about 4 hours on it. I changed the name from Brute to Savage because I don't want people confusing it for the Halo Brute.

Great job! I didn't realize you'd already made this kind of progress on it, though. The weapon design is excellent, with the magazine located behind the barrel[s]. The colors and sleekness, as always, are excellent, but I think I liked the other name for it more. Anyways, great MOC!
