I don't plan on doing it perfectly minifig sized, I'm going for a nice big carrier that fits plenty of detail, without going way overboard and exausting my life savings. So in sort, It's only going to be about 6 feet, thats plenty of space for me.

If you're planning on actually making it accurate and minifig scale, I would count on it being about this big: http://www.brothers-brick.com/2009/04/09/lego-battleship-yamato-largest-lego-ship-ever-completed-after-6-years/. No exaggeration. That's a minifig-scale ship about the same size as Enterprise.

Speaking about giant projects, I'm making a giant Titanic! It may not be as big as this one, yet I plan it to be... 4 1/2-5 feet, I would say.

You are correct, the "Chicago Pianos" were mounted above the maintnence deck underneath the flight deck, these will be modelled in a different setup, with a smaller barrel design, and will be built and featured when I've started on the decks.

Very nice, it has very clean lines for a lego, superb job. Do you plan on making the guns on the front under the forward flight deck? Because if you are making the updated version, that is the ONLY place where there are uhhh... im blanking on the name, but i think it is the only place where the old "Chicago piano" 4x40 mm cannons were.

That is so cool! I was thinking of making my own, but this one might be better. Nice details. You're right of making it step by step. I'm usually too excited, I do it all at once. Then I have to fix tons of problems...

On estimate,how long will the ship be?Are we talking a few feet or yards?

I do have enough pieces for this part of the superstructure, They're all mixed in with the rest of the legos, I just have to dig for them. I plan to make it through the superstructure faster, maybe by a few weeks, the hull and especialy the hanger deck will take much longer, because of the vast amount of parts I will have to order, I estimate, until final completion: maybe a few months.

Sweet man, where you getting the pieces from? Do you know how long it will be?

This is so great by far, can't wait to see the final project... and yeah good luck in the pieces, I'm facing a lot of problems in my BIG project because of the lake of parts :( keep it up.
