Even as a christian, i find a mecha with God-given "Divine" powers rediculous. On the other hand, such a mech is food for thought; Maybe that's what angels look like.... At the very least that mech is quite a looker!

I know, it's often times that you're best MOCs don't get rewarded. My Vulcan being Blogged on Young Spacers, my "Tour through my LEGOs (NOT A MOC)" page even got MOTD when it said in big bold letters, "NOT A MOC" in the title, and many other pages got MOTD weren't my best. Just be greatful for the reward you get.

The 4 stud wide thigh is much better in my opinion. BTW I'm working on a hardsuit in my Venus Assembly theme :D

It's an impressive MOC! Look awesome! Perhaps, it looks much better if the thighs made longer , maybe 1 stud longer. Besides, How far could the knee joint be flexed?

Wow... I'm really sorry about not commenting on this yet. I though I had. Nevertheless, it is amazing. Really incredible work with everything. The bayonet is actually still my favorite mech from you so far but that's simply because of personal preferences. If you asked which one I thought was your best I'd probably say this one. Terrific work on the torso and legs, I like the sword as well. The color direction is great and I really think that this is one of (probably THE) best izzo-style mechs I've seen excluding izzo himself. The only thing I could reccomend is sharper pictures. Other than that? Mind-blowing work. Keep on building ~ Nowhereman

I think that the thick ankle guards give the illusion of oversized legs in camera, because in real life, the legs are normal. Also, the sword looks extra long in photo compared to real life. My camera has difficulties with depth perception depending on which anlge I'm aiming from because of the way the lense is shaped. My upper legs are 3 studs and lower legs are 6. Phong, it's neither mine or Matt's monitors, you just need to adjust the brightness on these photos. Compare pure white on your monitor to the white in your photo and you'll see what I mean. The white on Venus Gospel nearly matches pure white on a computer screen. I still think the upper leg should be a stud longer since izzo typically builds them 4 studs long. Anyways I can tell its your mech because of the leg proportion.

Nice, you can't go wrong with a mecha and a giant sword. By the way, as soon as I have the capital to invest in parts from PAB I will start building in T-style as well. I had before about a year ago on my Digital Designer Program (other mechas lost and not posted on my homepage) and hope to bring them to life. I will try to blend in technic pieces into the body and accessories. I have already built a small inventory of technic weapons. I hope to have a finished product soon.

I butchered the phrase on purpose, but it still never gets old for me. I wanted to see how many people would notice it. I was also referring to conversations between me and Dali. We always get eachother when we least expect it.

His laser is the Cross. Yes, I did run out of white, but I also planned to use the gray so I can make a mech with more than 2 or 3 colors. The coordination of the blue was also intentional, but I agree that in some parts, I should use it more sparingly, but again, no white left. The blue pieces were supposed to be scattered to even out their placement. I wanted them to be "at bay" with white around them, so to speak. I still agree that I should use blue in some other spots though, but this mecha's color scheme was inspired by the Temjin form Virtual On. You should play it. It's a fun mecha game. Anyway, the blue and white are both the main colors in this, but the white is like a main color A, while the blue is main color B. The gray is the accent color, and the black is they underarmor color. The bley is really not supposed to be there, but I ran out of the pieces in the color I wanted, so the bley is not supposed to be shown.

Oh, I was also at school just a few minutes ago. We had to watch Romeo and Juliet in 6th period, so I guess I was asleep at school.

o.k. i know i say this a lot but this really is the best mecha i've ever seen,i just love that it has a sort of final fantasy scheme with the sword and everything,and that pose were he held his sword back wards like darth vaders secret apprentice.it's my fav.10of10.

methinks it needs a cross if it's going to be a Christian mecha. I think that the blue pieces should be next to as many other blue pieces as possible so it doesn't look like you randomly put blue on it for the sake of adding color. Otherwise you could add a lot less blue and use it more of an accent color. also I think light grey is not necessary for this mecha, maybe you ran out of white pieces?

the head reminds me of Regulus from Bomberman 64, which was the inspiration for the helmet used in my AT-1 and AT-6. plus the fact that he can hold his sword out in front of him is amazing. some of the pictures are Nightmare-ish(soul calibur). but that sword outstretched thing is just beautifil. another incredible work from the MEGA MECHA MOC MASTAH: Phong Chang!

That's because the sword itself has a basic frame. I used a bunch od 4 knobbed 1x1 bricks as well as rods going through the inside to stabilize them even further!

I never could understand how those japanese mechs were able to carry such overly-massive swords. Despite that strange twist of physics, this is a really awesome mech. I wish I had a bunch of those T-shaped joint pieces.

Always an honor and inspiration to look at your mechs and this one is no different. It's amazing at how strong and stable your mechs are and you used my favorite color too! I'm thinking of ordering some t-bars to build my mechs with. The joints I use are just to weak and are getting annoying.

Great work (again) Phong! I'm always impressed by your tendencies to mimic Izzo's style so very closely while somehow still remaining different... Anyways, nice job here. The colors are excellent, and the fact that the sword holds itself together well enough to be held by the mech is very impressive. IMO, though, it doesn't truly qualify as a 'Buster Sword' unless it actually looks like one (I'm a FFVII fan, can you tell?). Anyways, fantastic job! On a completely unrelated note, I'm working on a Ninja mech, my first ever design with a frame, if you didn't know. It's largely influenced by Lazengann and Izzo's 14-HR, so expect some familiar features on the design!

In the frames I've used as reference, the upper legs were 3 studs, but some are 4. I tried making this mechas upper legs 4 studs, but it wasn't pretty. It looked like he had a miniskirt, so I decided to go with a 3 stud-length upper leg. The lower legs on this mecha are only 6 studs tall. However, the knee joints connect with the lower leg, making them appear longer than they should be.

I was looking at this and was wondering, what do you use to make the elbow joints? I just can't figure it out. Also, could you give me some tips on mech building? I read what Dali wrote in the group "Masters" and that was very helpful, but the more info I can get the better. :)

It's not funny if I have to explain it... there's a myth that men with big feet proportionally have larger d1cks (obviously it's not true). It looks easy to make the lower leg one stud shorter, but I guess maybe not. The upper leg should be one stud longer too, in my opinion. Izzo makes the upper legs 4 studs wide, lower legs 7 studs wide, and feet 2 studs tall. I've counted, Izzo generally uses the same proportions for his humanoid mecha.

Also, I don't have a 1 stud width plate that is one stud shorter in length than the one I have. If I was to make it one stud shorter, it'd be unstable. Yeah, you kind of overused "that's what she said." I think the feet should be a stud taller and the lower leg one stud shorter. Izzo tends to make the feet big, and you know what they say about a mecha with big feet.

Thank you, but I built this in more of an Izzo-ish style. I like the cheese slopes and tiles on a mecha, and I also don't have many other studless parts. Still, thanks for the advice, but remember: I want you to criticize based on how Izzo-ish my mechas are. The cheese slopes and tiles are commonly used by Izzo. I also loved your remark on the jets! I LOLed! Your Venus Gospel is all smooth like Moko style, while my Revelation is supposed to be all cheese sloped and jagged and Izzo style. Anyway, how much shorter in studs do I need the lower legs? Thank you so much for the advice, and I will try to edit it based on your critiques. However, I'm still gonna continue with the cheese slopes and tile usage just like Izzo. I usually prefer jagged and complex looking over smooth and sleek looking. I'm not exactly sure why, but I think it has something to do with it being more Izzo-ish.

Interesting, the lack of any ranged weapon is out of the norm. Your building style reminds me of squieu, a micro-scale mecha builder. I still think your leg proportions are slightly off, the lower leg is too long and the thighs are too short. I like how the sword is as tall as the mech itself. The jetpack on the back is very anime-ish and something that Moko and Izzo would build, and it doesn't make sense at all. Somehow this reminds me a lot of your red Ruiz mech in the way you put so many tiles and cheese slopes on it. I see you got influenced from me in strategically placing black pieces around the feet, knee, abdomen, neck, upper arms, and hands. It kind of makes it look like it's a black colored cyborg underneath the white armor. I kind of avoid using tiles if I don't have to, makes the shape more interesting. Anyways, this was a really long comment; well done.

I'd say this is my favorite mech of yours so far. I'm immpressed that it can actually hold that sword and still stand (the big feet probably help). I think your lighting is lacking though, it should be a bit brighter. Awesome man, just awesome.
