About this creation
The last of five Dawn Forge builds from the “Zero Hour on Highway 44” collaborative project. Here are the links to mine and Keith’s Zero Hour postings in case you missed them.
The ICON is a command mech specifically designed for running the show from the thick of battle. It’s upright stance, made possible by a neural link to the pilot’s own internal balance system, gives it an unmatched field of vision, and more often than not, a tactically superior “high ground” firing position.
Armament-
4 barrel Gatling gun, chambered to fire the new, high velocity 35mm round. The weapon is not as accurate at distance as it’s single barreled cousin, but it certainly throws lead a hell of a lot faster…
10 fire-and-forget “smart” missiles, eight of which use Arkiden Geometry Guidance, and two of which have onboard Class 1 AIs, capable of autonomous in flight reasoning and decision making.
Yeah, a couple little tweaks to this one since Zero Hour, the biggest of which is the addition of the antenna array. I figured a command mech should probably sport fairly substantial sensor/communications equipment.
This uses the same joint tech as the IGNITION Class mech, a “how to” of which can be found here.
Hey, look…a balloon!
Field Commander Hedre…driven by righteousness, fueled by caffeine. A bit of advice to the new recruits. Don’t touch her coffee cup. Ever.

“Hey, thanks again for getting me out of that little jam over in Vancouver. So uhh…can I get your number or something? Or maybe we could…”
“No”
Well, thank heaven that’s over. Excuse me while I go throw my camera in the lake, dust off my bricks, and actually build, baby, BUILD!!!
After I do some sorting…;-)
And of course, as always, thanks for looking.

My favorite of your creations, I just love that repeater cannon configuration. Now, I don't usually comment on your things because I really don't have anything different to say from everybody else, but this time I do! I challenge YOU to a Moc-Off, with the category of light mecha suits.

I have to say, the weapons are the best part of your mech, although I have absolutely no idea how you built them. Would you mind telling us how you made the gatling gun? |

This is realy awesome. 5/5:) (again:) I have one question, and it's been driving me crazy! How on earth did you do the missile pods?!?!? The little parts inside! I've been trying to duplicate it so I can add a weapon variation to my Amoeba mech. (A rocket pod in the place of the cannon.) |

Are there, per chance, ninety-nine red balloons?
While I'm generally not the biggest fan of tall mecha, this one looks great and makes sense in its command role. Continue to play well, Mr. Kencenovitz. |

Everything above the ankles is win, but the feet... ugh. And it seems I'm not alone in my opinion. There are mecha in which the sledgehammer foot looks great, but this is not one of them. A three toed bird foot would fit with the aesthetics, I think. |

You know, Kelso and I were talking about adding a category to the Mocies for the builder who rested on their laurels the most but figured since you'd win hands down, it would be no contest. So, I know it's wortht the wait and all, but should I have myself cryogenically frozen to wait for your next moc? And Kelso, NO I will NOT shut it! You knew this about me going in! You made your bed, now lie in it! Wait... considering the subject there, that came out wrong... umm, Great Mech Brian! ~ Chris. |

What an amazingly fluid piece of engineering. Everything just ..well...works. You have definately raised the bar to new astronomical heights. Can't wait to see what you bring to life next. As far as criticism goes... well... bugger me if I can think of anything I don't like about it except that I didn't bloody well make the thing myself. Hehe. Oh well, back to the digital designer. |

The dexterity of those legs is pretty impressive (shut it, Phipson!). Love the shot of the Mech squatting down. Not sure I want to know WHY it's doing that, but hey, the mechanics of it are still cool. So what's next on the list of builds...oh wait, I know...you should try a Mech. |
