Paired with the Battleship Rising Sun , the Sunrise is a powerful Starlight class frigate, the pinacle of frigate technology so far.
the main purpose of the accompanying frigate is to fend off invasion parties, defend against fighter attack, and generally helping out. also, ships are paired so that if missfortune should befall one vessel, the other can assist or jump to fetch help.
Also fitted with the still experimental FTL (faster than light, credit: battlestar galactica) Drives, as well as the standard hyperdrive and sublight drive set-up, the Sunrise is highly manuverable, and can run circles around an enemy warship, one of the advantages of the Frigates size.
