You spin my head right round, right round...
About this creation
Named so because unlike the rest of uptown which has relatively short buildings, this has more tall business towers, like downtown.
I had to step back pretty far to get a shot of the whole city in one low-angle shot, as a result, I had too much of my kichen in the background, so I cropped it and came up with this strip of city.
View from up in the mountains.
Satalite views provided by Russian spies.
Lets start with one building constructed in the old part of town.
B.I.G Insurance, the second largest company in Blocktropolis, right after imagination Inc. The glass dome on top is the rooftop glass mansion of the grossly overpaid C.E.O.
Now lets move on to the new expansion.
An overview of the new expansion area.
World View Tower Hotel And Rotating Restaurant/Viewing Deck/Gambling Hall/Music Stage. That's the entire name of the business, man what a mouthful.
The big boring black business block. (Alliteration is fun!)
The Blocktropolis Stock Market. Being now separate from the U.S. We need to have our own market and stock exchange. Number of days since our economy has been better than the United States: hmmmmmmmmmm... When was this city founded again?
The green hotel, the name is pretty self-explanatory. Just a hotel for everyone overly obsessed about global warming.
The LIU embassy, because who doesn't love the LIU!
Blocktropolis indoor hockey rink. Our team, The Boxheads. Ya know, I'm not very good at coming up with Lego-related sports team names, for example, in Blocktropolis, our football team is the Brickheads, Baseball: Blockheads, and now hockey: Boxheads.
Eli's Hockey bar, I have a friend named Eli who's obsessed with hockey, he actually has an account here .
A smaller business building, I don't even know what business its for.
A random apartment block.
Another random apartment block next to the crown club, The club for only royalty, like the mayor, and the C.E.O of imagination Inc., and ummmmmm... I'll think of more later.
The city really makes most of its money with all these apartment blocks.
The Green House, the cities premiere indoor gardens and plant viewing area, actually the cities only indoor gardens and plant viewing area.
Jacques Jacques's Beauty Salon, where everyone is treated like a celebrity.
The temple of the golden faith, we're not sure what the golden faith is, but theres a temple for it!
The Hall of Fame, no it isn't for any sport, its for general fame, so basically, if you're famous for whatever reason, then you're here in the hall!
Crystal Rivers Hotel, water themed, unlike most of the other hotels in the city, there actually is a bathroom in every hotel room.
The fire lizard casino, some say that if you tilt your head and close one eye while squinting with the other, the building actually looks like a lizard.
The organ donators. bring your unwanted hearts, lungs, livers, kidneys, stomachs and church pianos here!
The pasta bowl, fancy Italian restaurant.
The goldfish bowl, pet and fish store. Out back is a cemetery for, you guessed it, pets and fish!
As a special treat, I've decided to include a lineup of the ten tallest buildings in Blocktropolis.
If you happened to notice the port, and haven't seen it yet, a more detailed description can be found here .

Thanks for commenting! I can't wait to see your next addition of Blocktropolis. Have you ever considered displaying your micro city at Brickworld in Chicago?
I've considered it, however, transportation and timing always make my schedule incompatible with Brickworld. Sad, really... |

Great city! I was thinking about doing a Micro City tribute for MOCpages and was wondering if I could use one of your images? You would receive full credit and a link to your page. Whatever your decision, thanks.
That would be fine, and thank you! |

Wow! I thought the mega cities in LegoLand were good. This is a great creation. I mostly like planes, boats and cars. And I might add some random stuff. Anyway, I hope to see more of your creations! You wont see any of mine yet, though. I am still working on a special lego project. I will put it up ASAP.

A special bulletin for all you Blocktropolis fans out there, I have huge plans for the next upcoming month. August 11th marks the 1-year anniversary of when I got my MOCpages account, and to celebrate all that has happened in my first year with this amazing community, the fair city of Blocktropolis is going to have a huge celebration, coupled with a large expansion, I'll be throwing in many other goodies, all for your veiwing pleasure. So mark your calenders people, and get ready for the greatest exoansion of Blocktropolis yet! Of course, meeting my August 11th deadline all depends on my ability to earn enough money to make a bricklink purchase of roads and microarchitechural pieces yet needed, so I'll have to work really hard for the next month. |

Hey,when are you gonna put up a nother expantion?Weeks, months?
not very soon, I've run out of blay tiles for roads, and I need to order a lot before another expansion, but I've been working on the buildings, and they're all sitting just waiting for roads, it's going to be a big expansion though. |

Hey Thomas:),
I have recently gotten a comment from him, too which wasn´t written from his normal account... I´m not sure, but think that he will certainly stay on MOC.pages since all the changes are in effect... My guess is that he must be a busy man - he probably rarely finds the time to check out MOCs here. Maybe he just does it in breaks at work or so, without logging in cause it´s faster... No idea! Steffen
Thanks steffen, I just noticed that he hasn't done much lately, so when I searched for his account it turned up no results, there was also a fully functioning link to his page I established on my page, and after clicking that yesterday, I got one of those "page no longer exists" notices, so I left a comment for you because I knew from somewhere that you knew him, but I deleted it because I figured you might not know. |

Blocktropolis has expanded to a pretty healthy size there, glad to see it's thriving. And these old eyes thank you for in-focus closeups of the buildings this time! I found that the bigger Shannonia got the harder it was to come up with new building styles -- I started repeating what I'd already done or seen someone else do before. Looks like you're encountering a bit of the same problem, but still there are some fresh and unique designs on display in this installment. Keep up the good work, Mr. Mayor! |

Great expansion! I lol'd at the Russian spies part. Nowadays I think a lot about making a small Prussian city and a small Egyptian city as examples of other cities in Prusso-Egypt; therefore, it seems it may actually happen after all. If I get around to it. Why don't I expand Kairosberg, you may ask? Well, because I'm done with it and want to add those two other cities to my collection. I may add the Oder and Nile rivers to Kairosberg, though. I need them. Keep up the good work, and I encourage you to try and use my microtrain design- I think you need that for your city, too! |
