Tower of Lanford
'Cuz Eggplant trees are awesome.
About this creation
Oh snap, I forgot to add poo-flinging monkeys.

The wonderfully grand and exquisite Tower of Lanford is strategically placed alongside the yellow brick, er, tan dirt road for all to see.

Of course, right next to it is a run down cemetery that sticks out like a sore thumb.

I made an arkload of brick walls for this MOC and only ending up using a couple. At least I was able to use a bunch of my tiles!! Happy tiles users don't die. They just fade away. Just like Chuck Norris!

I was also able to use a bunch of those flower stems I was talking about in my last posted creation. Good things come to those who build castle, right?

Just look at Mark Kelso! Oh wait, he hasn't made any castle yet. Do I hear feet dragging?

I finally got some inverted slopes! Yeeah! Though, I almost regret keeping those four sections that I use them in. Too big maybe?

The soldier watches the traveler come forward: "What a waste of red coolade!"

The traveler watches the solder come forward: "T-that spear looks scary..."

Sorry I don't have very many detail shots of the boy and dog, the roof, the interior, the path, the brick walls, the plants, ect. Just think of it as a game of I-Spy. With Legos. And you can't see inside the tower no matter how hard you look. Are we having fun yet?

Thanks for looking!!!

EDIT: I took like 125 WIP pictures, but as I don't have the time to post them here, I can send some to you via e-mail if you really want pictures of a messy workspace. (jdluse@comcast.net)

REEEELAAAAAY?!?!?!?!?(pronounced: reel-ay) I love your towers. There is always great scenery and action around them. Your battles could use more gore and action, though

Wow! The tower looks great from the outside, too bad that there are no interior shots... I like that tree too!

Overall, a great MOC :) The travelers add a nice "laid back" feeling to the whole scene, I like that.

This is great! I love the way you did the brick walls, the damaged grave stones, and the tower it's sick! Anyway, well done! Keep it up! Also can you check out my newest Moc it’s called, "Brothers in Arms" part nine: Escaping "The Invisible Hand" {part one of three}

Quoting Caleb Cutlass-Crocodile Blanchet ...my ONLY complaint is that there seems to have an empty feel in the space between the graveyard and the path...
Yeah, I think the gravestones could have stretched to the wall alongside the path, but it's too late now. =)

Very, Very, VERY nice creation, you got here! I love the tower, the path is well done, fig placement is awesome, my ONLY complaint is that there seems to have an empty feel in the space between the graveyard and the path, but that is it, GREAT MOC, Pal!

I think this is the first time I've seen that mudguard piece used in a castle wall, which is a great idea. And of course, the broken wall behind the tree in the cemetery is very convincing, but you know that already.

A stunning job to be sure, add me to the group that loves the little wall, but I have loved the design since seeing it on Steve's castle. Played with the design a bit myself, but you hit it bang on. Lee.

Mark - I was just gonna send you an e-mail...but Eggplant got to replying first. =) You really should check out Steve's stuff, he's amazing.

Quoting mark: "I'd love to see an entire castle done like that" Yes, This was done by Steve Decraemer. I I referenced this in castle masters #2?

The lack of poo-flinging monkeys is bad enough, but where's the door to the upper terrace behind the battlements?

Another great castle! I want to make one, but I only have the old light grey pieces. If I wanted to make a castle I would have to order a lot of pieces from Bricklink. I do have a lot of black pieces though maybe i should make a castle out of those. Do you have any tips on which pieces to buy?

NICE, Luse! I'm with Eggy on that small wall section - just terrific. It's too bad the parts needed for that technique aren't available in massive quantities. I'd love to see an entire castle done like that. I also like the composition of this one, and the graveyard is a cool touch as well. All in all probably one of your best yet. Oh and Phipson...you keep talking, but all I hear is blah, blah, blah.

The lower section of the tower has some excellent details. I like the incorporation of the market pieces. I see you're one of the many to take the plunge with that set. A must have for all castle fans. The best part, by far has to be that wall behind the tree. If you don't mind I'm going to steal that for my next MOC (if I ever get around to finishing the one I'm on)

If you need to see my face before I saw this, then look to the left of the comment. Lookin good JD, another one of you great creations! I'd have to say the tree is the best part of the whole thing, but everything else is pretty nice and detailed. Awesome, -Dylan

Excellent tower. I like the broken grave stone and the broken wall. Very nice. The mudguard arch over the window is a nice look. Just a nice pleasent scene over all. Poor gramps. I bet that's not coolade either. see ya. garth

To "legion" below me. That joke may be a bit before JD's time, but then again, he probably does have nick at nite. Since his parents won't let him watch LOTR or anything... anyway. In regards to castle "Just look at Mark Kelso! Oh wait, he hasn't made any castle yet. Do I hear feet dragging?" Yes you do! Even I built a castle for goodness sake! This one is great JD. I don't think those sides are too big. It's the use of the reverse slopes there that make it "not" too big. Did that even make sense? Maybe I should stop trying to carry on a conversation with a coworker while making a comment... ~ Chris.
