This model of the Taj Mahal, build in 2005 (which pre-dates Lego's model), was taken apart and the pieces were used for another, better, more intricate model of the Taj in 2008 (which also pre-dates Lego's model. (Look at the icon to the left or look at my folder on Mocpages)
The "newer" model was used for a movie entitled "Taj", an independent Australian film. The film is making its USA debut next weekend in Boston and the following weekend in San Francisco.

Even more beautiful than the set Lego made, which I guess this predates. It's stunning, and I love the reflection of it in the water. |

Cool! Two months ago I was at the Taj. this is a great replica! I love the reflection on the water, but I think you should make the water a little more thin. Other than that, A-MA-ZING! |

a wow that signifies appreciation for a work of art, built with art itself. |

I really love this creation. It's very beautiful. It looks similar to the new (shipping 10/01/2008)Lego Set 10189 Taj Mahal. Of course since they are both based on the same building, that is to be expected, but I'm a little surprised to see that this seems to built to the same scale. Am I right? Does this model measure approximately 20 x 20 x 16 inches? Of course the Lego set does not include the reflective pool, but that's okay. It will be the perfect modification to work on. May I ask? What part did you use for the secondary domes? They appear to have been especially molded for this model. |
