About this creation
Recently, Mr. Shaddix created a group for us AFOL’s (and some others) to show off our collections. As this is a very easy assignment for me, I decided to answer the call. Some of you may remember a while back when I posted my collection of sets. Most of those have been torn down and sorted into what you see here. There are a few sets still in tack, but we’ll get to those later. Now then, on with the show… (Don’t worry, this won’t take long.)

Starting on the left you can see four shoe box sized containers of black. I started trying to organize my black but they started screaming Apartheid so I let it be for a while. On the right, from top to bottom is grey, that weird color that’s not grey or bley, but kinda brownish… we’ll call it brey for the time being until someone can tell me what it’s called. And then another tub O grey. Yes, my old and new grey are mixed together… I’m that lazy.

Again, starting on the top left moving down, my tile box. Now you know where I get them from. Under that is my “controls and cockpits box” (hehehe I said… never mind). Then a box of mixed brown. On the right side is green, then blue then one of my boxes of bley.

Here we have tan (still some tan mixed in with the brown… but I’ll fix that eventually) and another box of brown under that (see, told you some was still mixed). On the right is the other box of bley and then yellow.

Starting on the bottom and moving up this time, just ‘cause I like to mix it up once in a while, we have my box of red, then trees and foliage and then a small box of miscellaneous black.

On the top here is my big box of white. Under that is where I keep my minifigs, animals and a lot of their weapons and accessories. I’m in the process of separating the weapons out of the box (you’ll see that later) but it’s a long process. Hey, look in the top corner there and you can see my cool letter opener holder in the shape of a helmet!... Moving on.

Here we have my PAB or pick-a-brick cups. We’ll do this like reading a book shall we? Left to right, and top to bottom. Bley grill tiles… never gonna run out of those. Then trans whatever, all shapes and sizes and colors… I’m easy that way. Then all the other grill tiles. Next is my cup O green 1x4’s. And you people thought I had too many. HAH! And finally trans blue bricks.

Next up is my small cup collection. Left to right, top to bottom again here… single stud trans clear then 1x2 trans clear. Like to keep those two separated. They like to argue about who’s more important. Then all the single studs. Heather and Stacy really like this one but I can’t figure out why? After that is the start of my weapons and accessories cup. Really got to get to work on that. Then there’s some technic connectors. Under that is my white picket fence. All I’m missing there is the dog, yard and 2.4 kids. And finally, another cup of technic. Maybe I should just put all those in a PAB cup and save some space?

Here we have on the bottom, a box of as of yet unsorted pieces. I should really open that up and see what’s in there… on top of that is the V torrent fighter that I have yet to put together. I keep it separate because I keep telling myself that I’m going to do a story moc with it in it… wonder if that’s ever going to happen? And then on the left is an unopened set. Yeap, that’s the only unopened set I have at the moment. And don’t forget the technic track pieces from the tie tank that I haven’t taken apart yet. Gotta do that soon too I guess.

Moving on to a few sets that I haven’t taken apart yet. Here you can see the technic stormtrooper and technic Vader. Oh yeah, and there's an x-wing and a Jedi fighter in there too. And if you look in the background, you can see a picture of my wife when she met Alanis Morisette. Alanis is my wife’s hero. That would be like me meeting David Prowse or Kelso meeting Ron Jeremy!

Some other sets that I think just look cool and can’t bear to rip them apart. On the top is the Star Destroyer, the AT-AT and the AT-ST. On the bottom are the Republic Cruiser, the original Darth Vader tie fighter and the Original X-wing.

Here’s the Falcon. This one will probably never be taken apart. It’s just too cool. I mean come on! It's the ULTIMATE pimpmobile!

And yes, that is a picture of my wife and I in costume from our days in Disney on Ice… I’m the ugly blue one on the left.

And here’s the entire collection. Yeap, that’s it. That’s all I got. Some might try to say it’s not the size but how you use it. Me, I prefer to think that I’m not trying to overcompensate for something else…
See, told you that wouldn’t take too long. Who do you think I am? It’s not like I have a lair like the Sterlings or anything. Sheesh.

I'm sure you've purchased more LEGO(R) bricks, by this time.... but what's funny, is that the thing(s) that stood out for me, were the Katanas hanging behind the LEGO(R)... I collect swords, myself, and thought that was pretty cool! One of these days I'll hang my swords up on my walls... |

You remember the movie Indecent Proposal? I don't have a million dollars, but I'm steadily approaching 1 million LEGO. Would you take a payment plan? Your wife....err collection is very beautiful!! |

I...wow. I seem to have been severely outclassed. My entire collection would fit in one of the larger boxes (totes? Whatever). |

I am indeed rather impressed by how few lego parts you have compared to what you do with it. I think I have a bit more than you. I used to have it ordered by colour too, but my bucket of whites of greys were just too big to find anything in there. Now, I have it all ordered by shape/function, which works fine. But it does mean that I always have to open about twenty containers when I want to build something. I´m considering changing it all back to colour coordination again, because I´ve found that I usually like to build in rather strict colour configurations: it limits the amount of bricks I can use, thus making it more of a challenge. |

For anyone who cares (and I know there's at least 3 of you who do... come on! Not even 3? Throw a brother a bone here would ya... anyway), I actually did a little more sorting this past week. Now, all my tiles are sorted by color and size. Doesn't sound like much I know, but if I get around to taking some pics, you'll see how much of a pain it was. |

Man Phipson, my collection is bigger than that! I don't have as many StarWars sets, but I guarantee I have more light bley. But, you beat me because of that amazing Disney on ice picture. One day I'll get around to posting mine. ~LL |

Nice tour Mr. Phipson. I especially like the random figure skating picture thrown in for good measure. And don't let these guys bully you into dismantling Star Wars sets. There's nothing wrong with displaying them. I'm a Star Wars nerd too. :-) |

um... are you aware that your picture frame has a tentacle growing out of it? I'd check the back for a little trans-orange eye and a sticker that says "Hand crafted by Nannan Z." -M.K. |

Hey Chris - if only my collection was HALF as organised as yours...then I'd be able to find that cursed light bley medium sized radar dish that I only have one of and really really need right now and...okay calm.Suffice to say, I feel inspired to get organised now, thanks :) and to answer your question , yep - 38 :) |

Well thank goodness you finally got your priorities straight and dismantled the majority of those Star Wars sets, which were just uselessly gathering dust. Now you have the parts to actually BUILD STUFF! Except it seems you'd rather spend your time earning a living, or being a husband and father or something. Hm. Maybe your priorities aren't as straight as I thought. |

That dark grey-ish brown colour is called 'old dark grey'. As far as sneaking into mocs and ruining their appearances goes, it's as bad as sun-faded-white-cream; it doesn't show up until after you take the photos. |

Oh, yeah. Don't listen to Eggy. I use those same containers. I don't mind hefting them about to get at something. I tell myself it's good exercise. I also bag up everything of a type if I can. Like all the tiles are sorted by color. Sorting LEGO can be a whole job unto itself. Maybe I'll go sort out that Dwarf Mine I just got today, or maybe I'll just got to bed. see ya. garth |

Fun tour. A good start for your collection. Not having everything in great gobs makes you have to think harder and that can really get the creative juices flowing. There's a set up for ya. Over time your collection will grow. You need to get those kids workin' and skim some off for "room n board". I have a good size collection but I don't have kids or a wife or self control. It's a trade off. see ya. garth PS: I can't even imagine how I could describe my thoughts on seeing that picture of you and your wife in costume. I'll leave it at that. More enigmatic. |

Wow, alanis morisette and ron jeremy. A match made, well somewhere. You're collection is all star-wars, yet I can't remember you making a ship. No; segways don't count! Also, whats the deal with the boxes. Its like going to storage? real builders use pull out drawers! Nevertheless, awesome to see this and thanks for sharing! =) |
