very nice creation here, lookin like something architects would present for a city square and its new construction- i like the mcdonalds there, and the fire escapes add a nice touch to the apartment buildings so much to take in!

Cool, Nick! This is a very nice layout so far! I appreciate SNOT as much as when builders like you actually use studs and say "Iīm not trying to hide that itīs Lego" - thatīs a very good statement there! As I tend to build more and more studless stuff, Iīm not afraid to show some studs, either! Sometimes, they actually serve perfectly to underline the contours of a creation, or to highlight other (studless) areas. Itīs nice, too, to see somebody using something different than the street plates made by Lego. Furthermore, you used a lot of simple, but very effective building techniques on the buildings of your town. It shows that one doesnīt need to be rich or own a million pieces to set up a nice layout. And did I see a McDonald`s there? :) I wouldnīt eat there in real life, but love its iconic style when "transfered" into a Lego town. Very nice, altogether. Now if Iīd be you, Iīd try to light up the town with 12V or 9V Lego lights! :) Best regards, Steffen

If you see in the first pictures all the buildings are removed from the city and put behind it leaving just the roads and the green areas where the buildings used to be. This reveals the yellow bricks which are supports. They hold up each individual building to the sidewalks height. They are spaced at 14 studs apart to accommodate the buildings in the city which are built on 16x16 (or 16x32 and 32x32 baseplates.

Lookin' pretty cool Nick. I like the studs on the streets and sidewalk. I try to mix up studs and snot together when I can. The nice thing about studs visible is you can use the rounded plates to make the sidwalk corner rounded. I did that in my I'm Batman moc and thought it looked cool. It's probably just me. You need some orange pylons for those sidwalk fixin' guys. They are just wondering out in the street and man once you get some cars, those guy could be roadkill. I like it, you have a lot of bricks but you maybe shud try to make the city big with smaler building (the same scale but not soo high).
