Hrothingas Castle - Castle Evolution - Stage 1
About this creation
This is the first stage of my castle. It will evolve into a bigger stone castle in the next stages.
This wooden castle could have existed around 950 AC.

I really like your landscapes. The foliage and the mushrooms are great. The "castle" itself is utterly astonishing. So wonderful. The cliffs too are magnificent. I can't believe that your highest rated has only 80 something lego heads. You deserve more credit for what you accomplish. Keep up the good work. |

Lookin great Daniel. I really like the rock formations. Also, is it worth it to take down the market village? I have it, but I don't want to take it down.
It's definitely worth it to take down the market village, the parts are very useful |

Love the rocks, all the scenery is great! The only problem I see is all those flowers inside the compound, don't you think they'd get trampled down? Well no matter, it's awesome either way. *Sits and waits quietly for next installment* |

This MOC is very rich in both detail and creativity. The idea of building several castles in different parts of history along a timeline is neat, and I'm looking forward to future MOCs from you. Again, great MOC :) |

This is really good Daniel. It gives me the medieval feeling. I totally agree with the year it could have existed. I liked especially the stone walls/rocks. I think this was the heaviest part of building. Tell me is that you (your virtual self) visiting the castle? Continue at this pace and you might be the next master builder :-) |

I wanted to try and make a castle MOC, but I don't know if I have enough pieces. My problem is if I order from Bricklink I'll get light bley instead of light grey like I have already. Since I need start all over again I just wanted to know what the main pieces you used were.
If you start all over again i suggest buying sets. the kings castle siege and the medieval market village have excellent parts. The medieval market village has a lot of parts for just $100, but if you want to build grey castles the kings castle siege has the best parts.
Some of the first things i bought on bricklink were light bluish gray slopes and 1x2 bricks (and some 1x1, 1x3, 1x4 and 1x6 bricks as well). |

I love this, dont see many people making any realy early era castles. I was thinking about making one myself but need a few more brown elements. Very nice work, good to see someone making something different to the usual stone castles. |

@ chas irich: If i need more of one type of piece i will order it, and by looking at other's creations and by building MOCs I also find out which pieces i need. I started building MOCs when i only had sets, and started to buy from bricklink in the end of 2007 (one year after i dicovered the AFOL community), so if you don't have many pieces it is a good idea to buy sets to get a lot of different parts. |
