About this creation
In the boat

The Amazon

Peggy (Margaret) and Nancy (Ruth) who are the crew of the Amazon.

I don't know if any of you have read the book, or seen the film - but this is one of the boats in it. I've used one of the pages as reference and am confident I've made quite an accurate creation. Since in the book the sails are white, the crew have red bandanas and blue tops.

I showed this to a 4yo fan of the series, and she asked "Doesn't Amazon have a centreboard?" I believe the Amazon is described in the books as having one fewer thwart, because the centreboard allows them to take up the keel when rowing or sailing with the wind. Otherwise, fantastic!

This is great. I'm a big fan of Swallows and Amazons and am reading it (again) to my kids, who also love it. We would love to build this. Do you have instructions?

i never read the book ... never even heard of it ... but you got a nice little build there. =] ... a funny thing though is that (at first) i thought the boat was MUCH bigger than it actually is - until i saw the pic with the minifigs ... cool minifigs btw ... those *young* Boba Fett torso's looks great as sailor shirts !
