Small vehicles with far too much speed and far too little fuel economy have always been popular.
About this creation
Especially among the rich teenager and midlife-crisis crowds.
The FF XL-3 Fireblade is a low priced, entry level hovercar; it's as uncomfortable as a military transport, costs as much as some houses and goes through a tank of fuel like it's going out of fashion. It also makes far too much noise and has a dangerous tendency to go into a lethal tailspin.
Fireblade owners are therefore short-lived, and often the survivors shell out the extra 75K for a safer luxury groundcar.
It is popular with young police officers, however, as its lethal tail-heavy characteristics, when used properly, allow some interesting manuevers.
"HALT! You are under arrest for illegal acts #223, #24, #97 and #544!"
(Murder, arson, gunrunning and jaywalking, respectively.)
Did I mention it's popular with crims? It is very fast, and since speed is a must for criminals on the run from the law, the fact that their getaway car is incredibly loud and fragile means nothing.
