My biggest ship.
About this creation
This is the Normandie, the pride of French ships. The Lego ship can contain two luxurious first-class rooms, one dining room, one ball room, eight second-class rooms and two bathrooms. I had to destroy my Viaduct of Millau, The Black Pearl, 4-6-6-4 Challenger, Washington State Ferry, and the red hotel from my city. It is my biggest ship, about as long as my city. The legnth is longer than the height of my giant bridge. The ship is 128 studs long and four decks high. There was one accident in the making of this ship, and the entire hull had to be remade.
The real thing was built in France. It was made in response to a contest. It won, for it was bigger, faster and more luxurious than all the others. One fact is that it was made with ten kinds of wood that are now extinct. It was converted into a troop transport, the Lafayette. A soldier accidently lit a fire, and the whole ship topsided and sunk. Sad fate for what was once the most beautiful ship.

The stern of the ship.
The side of the ship. I could have put two more lifeboats, but I wanted to keep the beauty of the ship.

The top of the ship. On the real ship, the last funnel is a dummy and hides the airation system.
And now, the real thing.

thank you for this realisation, my grand father worked to make that ship in the "chantiers de l'atlantique", and often told me about this wonderfull ship, its a part of my childhood, and certainly the reason why I love to build things today ;). He is old now (95), doesn't understand anything about the net but I show him the pictures of your moc and he immediatly recognize it!!We both thank you again, sincerly!Hope you will make The boat one day, I mean Le France, that is certainly the most beautifull boat that has been made in history!!;)
I am honored by this, thank you. It was a pity it had to burn... The new version is up too, you can check it out. Et pour avoir un grand-pere qui a travaille sur ce paquebot, vous devez etre Francais aussi! |

Looks quite nice, you might try starting wiv one dot den two dots and so on to get the curvature of the hull more streamlined.if you had a few six dots before the straight part of your hull it would look a lot better.i used to make ships that way now as you can see especially with my FUSO it starts with two dots and keeps getting gradually wider up to about fifteen dots.hope this is of some help to you.look forward to your next models,EBAY is a great scource for lego etc. |

WOW. Amazing !!!!! It's so cool!! It's one of my top 3 ocean liner/cruise ships, along with the Titanic & the SS. France!!! Does it have insides? If so, please post some pictures!!
PS, your going a bit Titanic with the lack of lifeboats!!! ;) Those are also my favorite ships. In fact, my Titanic will not have its fourth funnel. It would be the S.S. Paris. Then, I will change it into the Normandie(my favorite ship). This ship here has an inside, but with no furniture. I needed pieces to make my second project, so I can't take more pictures.

i like it.... if you made it a bit bigger and more detail i would be better (the size is fine, you need to make it more detailed, and the on ly way to do that is to make the ship bigger.)
You're lucky, because my Titanic projected will be changed into the Normandie, and it will be two times bigger. |

Wow, that ship is huge, it looks just like the real one, now all it needs is some minifigures playing on deck, great work. |
