This is my little LEGO homepage. I've been a LEGO fan since I was only a few years old. Because of my family's modest substance and peculiar location my collection has never grown very large. However this has challenged me to adapt and improvise to build what I want. I enjoy building spacecraft, machines of war, and occasionally more peacefull things like houses and towns. I also like playing brikwars with my little sister and my friend.
Please excuse the fact that many of my larger models are multicolored, I've never been able to get enough basic building bricks in reasonable colors.
Many of my creations are based in a fictional universe of my invention. It is seperate from our world, but similar. It is also the setting for multiple stories I'm writing or have written, and an in development first person shooter.
The primary focus is on the two largest countries; Morfair, and Brinstar. Yes those names might be familiar to some people, when I came up with them I never intended to go public with them, and now its too late to change them.
There are also two time periods, the main one is semi futuristic. Advances in propulsion and guidence technology have brought about the creation of missiles that are hypersonic and far too fast to be dodged or tricked. Ground based anti aircraft missiles have banished aircraft from the main regions of air, replacing them with ultra low level interceptors and dropships, and ultra high level strato fighters dogfighting it out in the outer regions of the atmosphere.
Morfair is the larger country, following a non violent coup a group of radical ultranationalists took power of the government, hellbent on turning Morfair into an empire. The people of Morfair are slow to change, they are very traditionally minded. At the same time their government is very forward thinking and streamlined.
The Ultranationalists set up a one party 'republic' and commenced preperations to invade their next door neihbor, Brinstar. These developments were not lost on Brinstar, who also began increasing their capacity to war. Brinstar's people are very modern, quick to try new things. But they still have an old fasioned monarchy ,they are governened by a heriditary king. The currant king is old and weak, but his daughter, princess Liader, is as sharp as the king is not. She is in charge of the defence of Brinstar, and will most likely succeed the king.
The stage was set, four years after begining preperations, Morfair declared war on Brinstar, within hours several major border cities on both sides were obliterated by nuclear weapons. The cost of such attacks proved to be too great as ground gained by nuclear attack was worthless for years afterwards. Nuclear weapons were banned. This turned the war into a slugfest stalemate. After several years of back and forth fighting, the front turned stagnent. A long line of trenches was built stretching across two thirds of the continent, the only place the war remained mobile was in the desert to the west. The trenches run through a barren wasteland of irridated desert pockmarked with countless shell holes.
Most of our brikwars take place in this war, sometimes early in the war, and sometimes later. Sometimes not at all. :)
After the end of the war (and I won't say how it ended since that's part of my stories) technology had been advanced a great deal, bringing about cheap spaceflight a mere ten years later. Although a colony was founded on the moon, spaceflight remained a mere novelty for a generation. Then a brilliant group of Morfair scientists cracked the lightspeed barrier. They found a way to bypass the impossible transition to lightspeed, with the proper information a ship's mass could be converted to non mass and stretched across space till it reformed itself into normal mass at the destination. With this technology new ships were created which could easily visit stars lightyears away. With a new democratic government Morfair united the world under one government, anyone who did not wish to live under the new government was offered a colony ship and sent away to do whatever they liked on their own planet. As more are more systems were colonised interplanetary trade became profitable. It was here that things began to go wrong. It is unknown who was the first to arm their starships, but the consequences were disasterous. Sporadic fighting broke out all across the new network of worlds, warlords dominated independant systems and forced them to pay tribute. Ambitious planets fought to take controll of nearby systems. The common people looked for a solution to the violence, Morfair once again stepped up to the challenge. With a brand new fleet of starships designed specifically for war they created the Federation of Worlds, any planet who wished to could join. In return for economic contribution and the surrender of a certain amount of independance they would recieve the protection of the powerful Federation fleet and representation in the Senate. Many planets joined in hopes that the Federation would put an end to the fighting. Over time they did just that, but now many planets found their institutions undermined and replaced with a distant earth based government. Although most were content, a few were not. A counter orginisation of planets grew up, with their own fleet, led by the decendants of old Brinstar. As they grew more powerful the council of the Federation of Worlds realised that they posed a real threat to Federation control, and so they declared a state of war. After more than 500 years, Morfair and Brinstar were at it again.
This futuristic setting is so I can build spaceships and the like, which are used in a peculiar blend of pen and paper rpg and brikwars which I invented. In this game players control a fleet of starships which can trade between planets, run missions, and fight battles with the other faction/s. Or even dominate independant planets and add them to their empire. Expect be seeing some creations, battle reports, and/or comics from this game soon.
