Hi, my name is Joe. Welcome to my mid-life lego crisis. You can also find me on Flickr and Twitter.
I am a 37 year old Chartered Surveyor from Bristol, England. I have recently started work as a professional Lego builder for Bright Bricks - I still can't believe it really.
In my spare time I am a Kung Fu student and teacher. I am also an AFOL with KFOLs - my two sons love to play with Lego too. Helping them build triggered my interest all over again and awoke me from a 15 year ‘dark age’. Being a Dad who is forced to play with Lego can be tough sometimes, but I battle on ;).
From an early age I played with Lego Technic but have recently started to build with traditional bricks. I joined Mocpages in early 2011 and since then I have tried to dedicate as much time as possible to building new and exciting things. The more creations I see on this wonderful site the more inspiration I get to try something new. I like to build large detailed and technical models (usually vehicles of all kinds). In between the larger models I build smaller fun things; action figures, animals and complete randomness.
Be warned - I like to leave studs showing. DON’T FEAR THE STUD. ;D. I am also a bit of a purist and try to use legal connections only, I never mark or modify bricks and I only use stickers if they have already been applied to a second hand brick. I also limit the use of specialised pieces.
I am active in these friendly groups:
Classic Race Teams. A group dedicated to recreate the classic race teams from the golden era of racing.
