On behalf of His August Majesty, Emperor Malum I, Supreme Ruler of Amryai and Her Dominions, we send greetings and goodwill on behalf of the Amryan Empire.

I, Governor Marl Hanric of Nostromos, have sent this transmission in the hopes of contacting other intelligences in the universe.

Embedded in this transmission is the database of our civilization, centered on the world of Amryai in the Houston galaxy (for further elaboration, see the BACKSTORY subsection). For nearly 1500 galactic cycles [ANALYZING...TRANSLATION: 4 TERRAN YEARS] our people have explored space, settled on distant planets, built space stations, and commandeered starships capable of traversing light years in minutes. And yet...we have met no one.

We know other life exists in the universe, for we have heard their transmissions, but we wish to meet them. For this purpose I invite you to open intergalactic relations with Amryai in the hopes of fostering cultural exchange and enrichment (unfortunately, we cannot exchange specific technological information at the present time lest this transmission fall upon the ears of our malicious enemy, the Rebel Alliance).
