Nano: (NA-no). A One billionth part. A brick system by that OTHER company. 1/1000th scale LEGO models.
Since Micro is already used to mean sub-mini scale, I figured that Nano would be a good term to describe a dedicated 1/1000th scale. This would be sub-micro, but I suppose that anything sub mini is micro. At Nano scale, an orange 1x2 grill tile would represent 3 school buses parked side by side. Since Portland city blocks are 200'x200', the same scale translates to 2.5"x2.5", or an 8x8 baseplate. A 1x1 tile would represent a cube with dimensions of 25'x25'x10' tall.
(N.B. I realize that milli- means one-thousandth and would be more appropriate. Nano just has more market pizzazz. Compare the '80's lip-sync duo to the Apple mp3-player. Which one has more appeal to you?)

M.A.S.K. toys were created by Kenner from 1985-1988. They were a cross between Transformers and GIJoes. At one time I had most of the vehicles and had created the rest out of LEGOS at a 6-8 stud wide scale. My mission is now to recreate all of the toys on two scales. The first is micro-scale of 2 studs wide and non-transformable. This also includes a second transformed version. The second scale is a mini-scale of 4 studs wide and transformable.

Istockhouseplans.com is my house plan design company. I am in a slow process of creating all of my house plans out of LEGO bricks. Most houses will be built at 1:48 scale, though larger ones may get a smaller treatment.
