Welcome to the MOCpage of the BrickYork Fire Department. The BrickYork Fire Department (BYFD) was founded on May 14 1996. BrickYork Fire Department currently has 3 Stations. These stations are divided into 4 Districts which covers an area of 70 square miles & an approximate population of 15,000. Each District is commanded by a Platoon Chief who is overseen by the Deputy Fire Chief Aswell as the Department Chief. The BrickYork Fire Department runs off of 1 platoon on a 24 on, 72 off schedule. The (BYFD) protects the Minifigs of BrickYork 24/7. On average the BYFD runs about 7+ calls a day, we also protects about 7,000 people, which can swell up to 15,000 or so during the Year. The department operates 1 Pumper,1 SRU (Special Response Unit) 4x4 truck, 1 Aerial Ladder Truck, 1 Rescue/Pumper (Spare), 1 Hazardous Material Squad, and 3 Chief Vehicles. Each Pumper or Rescue / Pumper is staffed with 2 firefighters but at all times on a call is overseen by a Chief or Captain depending on the call. The Aerial Ladder Truck and Hazmat Squad are staffed with 1 Firefighter & 1 Captain. BYFD provides Fire protection, Medical Emergency Response, Motor vehicle Extraction, Hazardous Material Response, Urban Search and Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, High Angle Rescue, and Swift Water Rescue.
