Welcome to the home of the City of Lego Heights Fire Department! Serving the City of Lego Heights, Ohio, and surrounding areas of Foster Township, the City of Lego Heights Fire Department is a full-service ISO Class 2 department.
After being protected by the Foster Township Fire Department for over 60 years, the City of Lego Heights decided that the time had come to start its own fire/rescue services, and in 2007, the CLHFD was established with one vehicle, a 2008 Pierce Velocity rescue engine, Engine 191. Since 2008, the department has restructured, adding 8 more stations and over 20 new apparatus with more expansion planned.
As of February 2013, the City of Lego Heights Fire Department consists of 2 Tower Ladders, 3 Quints, 6 Engines, 4 ALS Light Rescue, 5 ALS rescue medics, 2 Battalion Chief, 2 EMS Duty Officer, 1 Dive Operations Supervisor, and 1 Chief. Together, the 234 firefighters, 40 paramedics, and 116 support staff of the CLHFD protect over 243,000 in an 80.7 sq. mi. rapidly growing city. The department also provides fire/rescue services to Naval Air Station Foster Lake, which houses a US Navy SAR unit and HH-60H Rescue Hawk helicopter. The CLHFD is a member of the Midwest Fire Collaborative and is also available to provide high-rise firefighting, collapse rescue, hazardous materials response, USAR and other specialized rescue services to any department within a 100 mile radius.
