My Building Techniques and Beliefs
As far as techniques go I typically try to go with a simple an sturdy, yet accurate design. I also normally build to conform to the first edition of LEGOŽ Star Wars (i.e. 7190 Millennium Falcon, 7144 Slave I, etc.)
With beliefs, I believe that bricks should be left alone and not modified - except on extremely rare occasions - as they will nearly always work in any design in their pure form. HOWEVER, I believe that minifigs and accessories should and WILL be modified to suit whatever character may be created. I never use decals as I think they typically look sloppy, instead I use permanent markers (which will actually come off with rubbing alcohol), to remove stock paint from minifig parts I use very very fine grain sandpaper, and to remove parts such as the fins on clone trooper helmets I use a more coarse grain sandpaper or the file on my Swiss Army Knife.
My views on "Mega Bloks", simply put, is that I absolutely hate them and believe they are made of poor quality, dull, cheap knock-offs of LEGOŽ and that anything that can be accomplished with "Mega Bloks" can be better created with LEGOŽ.
